we've been relegated to
moments of protest for the next four years, as pointed out tonight on Olbermann, as we have no power in the House, Senate, Supreme Court or the White House

Let's make them some of the greatest moments of our lives!

1. Somebody has to stand up to these
fascist bullies and the rock-hard, stupid, idiots who support them.

2. Only for 2 years. There could be a change in the next rep. election.

3. No. The House is gerrymandered, and only a couple of
Senators have announced their retirments.

4. Besides, this last few years has proven that democratic politicians.....
Just LOVE to kiss republican ass.

I have NO hope for a reversal of the trend, even if there's an improvement in the numbers in 2008.

5. There are enough Dem senators to uphold a fillibuster, ...
unless the GOP really can change that rule. Could a move to change the rule be fillibustered?

Social Security might be the issue where a strong stand can hold.

Of course, the Dems may just fold. But let's not call it until we see it.

6. As I understand the senate rules....
The majority party can change them at their whim. The politics of such a move are dicey, because whoever isnot in charge at any given time must abide by them. If the repukes invoke the "nuclear option" as they call it, what happens if they find themselves out of power somewhere in the near future? THey'd be fucked.
