Somebody help me make an open letter to Russ Feingold
It should stress that he'd better have an explanation for his actions today. I have no hosting space so if somebody could get a major organization to do it or even have it on their own space that would be great. Thanks!

1. He didn't even speak.

I was disappointed too. Talk about progressivism, and Bob lafollete and WI progressive history. Talk about his vote against the patriot act. Ask how he can call himself a progressive if he won't stand up for fair elections, when his country clearly needed him to. Tell him this was a defining moment in America and history will expose this election for what it was: a crime against democracy. Minorities and college students were disenfranchised. Ask him what was more important than defending the right to vote? What was more important than standing up for the powerless?

2. Ditto! He let me down today! Surprisingly I got another email from him
Edited on Thu Jan-06-05 11:09 PM by Verve
this a.m. I opened it suspensefully only to find this:

Dear Friend,

Thank you for taking the time to e-mail me and let me know your
thoughts on matters of concern to you. Hearing from Wisconsinites
is
my most important source of information and one of the things I
enjoy
most about my job.

Due to the high volume of non-constituent Internet mail and "spam"
this account receives on a daily basis, I unfortunately am unable
to
respond to your message by e-mail, but I do want to respond to
your
thoughts and concerns. Constituents who have included their name
and
address in the e-mail will receive a letter from me through the
U.S.
mail addressing the issues raised. If you did not include an
address,
I encourage you to resend your original message with your address,
or
feel free to use the "contact me" form on my web site at
http://feingold.senate.gov/contact.html. At this time, I am only
able
to respond to e-mails that are sent individually, not to
mass-generated e-mails. However, the views expressed in any
mass-generated e-mail that includes a Wisconsin address will be
recorded.

If you have a time sensitive question, please feel free to contact
one
of my offices by calling one of the numbers listed below.

Thank you for writing me, I look forward to hearing from you on
other
issues of importance to you.

Sincerely,

Russell D. Feingold
United States Senator

BTW, This is exactly how it looked as well. With his inaction today he deserves a :spank:

11. Ditto on Feingold
I got the exact same letter from Feingold's office, and I'm in Calif.
He sounded good grilling Gonzalez, I am terribly disapponted in him not joining the Boxer rebellion.
BTW--I emailed Barbara, as well as called her San Fran office to praise her actions. I tried getting thru on the 800 DC #, but it was tied up all day. I'm afraid she's going to get alot of ugly hate mail........please, please, everyone take the time to at least email her our heartfelt thanks for being a hero.

8. It breaks my heart to be let down by him
of all people. He and Kucinich are the two most decent politicians I can think of. Kucinich did the right thing, but come on Feingold, you dropped the ball.

5. Give him three words:
"I'm voting Green."

End of letter.

End of Party.

End of America.

7. Wasn't he tied up with the Gonzales hearing most of the day?
And from what I saw of that he was doing a pretty good job grilling Gonzales.

14. That makes me feel better. It sounds more in his character to be fighting
than wimping out! But still, he could have tried to make it to the objection.

12. What an insightful commentary.
Perhaps if you shared it with him, the Senator could spend many an evening meditating upon the depths of the political thought it contains.
