As sad realization as I drove yesterday
I was driving around and listening to Rush Limbaugh from 1:30 to 1:50 yesterday and was appalled. He was trashing Edwards, Kerry, Clark, and Dean. But that isn't the problem. The problem was he could have been reading this forum.

His points Dean lied to People magazine (about panic attacks)
Kerry called Edwards immature and young (the diaper thing)
Edwards is immature and young
Clark lied about his opposition to the war.

Everyone of these things are either categorically untrue or overblown. Yet all have been posted here and all by supposed liberals. It should appall you that it is hard to difference between or GD 2004 forum and Rush's show. And it isn't just the fact this crap gets posted it is that, that is all that gets posted. It really was just like Rush's show. Sad but oh so true.

1. I agree. mostly.
I see so many posts here that are little more than RNC fax-blast talking points about whatever candidate the poster wants to potray negatively, that I have to remind myself that this is, theoretically, a 'progressive' board.

It turns my stomach.

2. Indeed! I hate this candidate bashing

And I get angry about a liberal co-worker who continuously calls Kerry--"the French-haired guy." She obviously picked this up from Republicans, but says she "agrees" that he is French-looking, as if that were so horrible. She's been saying this for months now.

3. And don't worry about Limbaugh
his show is wingnut to wingnut. Don't worry too much about the stuff here, it's a campaign. I would like to see less personal attacks.

4. You think that's bad?
Imagine how it feels to have Democratic candidates pick up talking points directly from the RNC website!

I don't like DUers doing it, but I deplore candidates doing it.

I don't intend to inflame, I am essentially in total agreement.

5. I haven't seen any of those points raised here
well, the last one, but that's not really specific to Rush at all.

On the other hand, I've seen VERY specific Rush propaganda here about Daschle. The pink tutu picture shows up here all the time, and it seems way out of place here. It's not natural, imo, for such a mean and empty and homophobic way of arguing to be done at a liberal site.

Also, I hear Daschle's "deeply saddened" quote get mocked here, and Rush also mocks that same qoute. I've never got that, what's wrong with saying "deeply saddened?"

7. then you need to do some searching
with the exception of the Clark point all were posted that morning before I left out. That is one reason it was so striking. I had pretty much just read all that stuff here.
