I think Edwards can become the new "Clinton" and do a lot of damage |
|
If he finishes a strong second or third in NH and suprises everyone like he did in Iowa, I think he'll get tremendous momentum and clean house in the southern primaries. The only person that would be able to compete with him would be Clark.

He is definitely one to watch.
But I think his lack of experience will be a problem. Then again, he does have more than Bush did in 2000.
I like the guy, and he's currently my #2 choice. I question whether he has the stones to go into full attack mode against the GOP.

but why would a Clark supporter say Edwards' "lack of experience will be a problem?" Lack of what type of experience? He has more experience in Washington and as an elected official than Clark. He has 20 years of experience running a very successful (against all odds) law firm.
For those people who believe that having 20 years as an elected official is a critical qualification for president, I can understand their objection, though I disagree with their assessment. But I really do not "get" how a distinguished military career but no experience running a state government or serving as an elected official in the House or Senate renders one more qualified for the job of POTUS.
Edwards has the good/misfortune of looking much younger than he is (50). Sometimes this confuses people.
As a general comment, all of our candidates, including Kerry, are lacking the most clearly relevant experience and will have to learn on the job. Bush has this, but does this make him more qualified?

5. Didn't mean it as a slam |

I really like Edwards, and would be proud to vote for him.
But he only has one term in the senate.
I do think he's a bit subdued for what Rove is gonna hit him with.
But I hear great things about his fighting ability. He could surprise.
This is one person I will keep my eye on. But I still plan on supporting and voting for Clark.

I can't tell from your post whether you think this would be a good thing or not?
Personally, I've been a lukewarm supporter of Dean, but I'm starting to lean toward Edwards, mainly because I think he's more electable.
