4. Bush can't get a break on DU! The courts missed up the asbestos
cases - the result is that just about every American can sue for his or her $2000 or $3000, rather than the seriously injured getting reasonable compensation. Therefore there have been no real settlements as delay is the only way out for those caught in the mess.

For once I agree with a liability limiting bill - provided it is reasonable and deals with asbestos liability only.

I had a file on this a while back -

if someone is interested I'll see if a powerpoint is still on my drive that I can email out. But each case is a little different - so what I have - if I still have it - would be the view from 30,000 feet.

Better yet the Senate Bill last year that almost passed had excellent hearings that provide a good background.

5. This is all about Halliburton and the Dresser merger.
Both companies have over 100,000 asbestos suits pending against them as we speak. Dick Cheney's evil hand is all over this.
