When Gonzales is confirmed as attorney general, exactly what
Edited on Fri Jan-07-05 04:37 PM by Cyrano
will make us any different from any other fascist, torturing, repugnant, police-state regime, past or present?

The man is a despicable excuse for a human being who will do whatever our imbecile-in-chief wants him to do.

We know that no Rethug will vote against his confirmation, but any dem who does so needs to be held accountable. Let's tell any such dem senator that when they're up for reelection, we'll contribute to anyone who challenges him/her in the primaries.

Unless the Democratic party starts standing for its historic principals, what's the difference between them and the criminals currently running this country?

2. We won't be wearing armbands with swastikas?
Lets see....torturing...jailing in secret prison camps without trial...invading countries without cause...

Other than gassing the jews, and snappy black uniforms...not a whole hell of a lot.

Granted that last one is a pretty big step from us to the nazi's. I mean, who the hell can tailor uniforms that groovy these days with all our clothes coming from Malaysia?

4. He must never be confirmed. Imagine your kids being tortured
Did they sign the Geneva Conventions? If not, according to his reasoning yesterday, he has the right to torture them.
