3. It would be a populist party that transcends left/right labels
It would be modeled on Howard Dean's ideas and campaign which attracted liberals, Dems, Greens, Libertarians, Moderates, Independents, conservatives, Republicans and even a few evangelicals, according to Dean himself. It would be a party that explained to the average American that wedge issues are a distraction keeping them from voting their own self-interest. Etc.

5. Yeah, I'm with that
something that would downplay the culture war. I know that Howard Dean has said some good things about federalism, which I support, and also supports the Second Amendment, which I also support.

I'm definitely a progressive, liberal, secularist, pro-union and egalitarian in the "ends" category, but the New Fascist GOP has certainly made me re-think a huge federal government and authoritarianism, left or right. I would certainly join with libertarians, moderate, reasonable conservatives and other independents to stop the corpo-fascist, neocon, Religious Right triumvirate. That's exactly what I'm looking for.

6. A party with no platform?...
...a platform is a list of wedge issues, right? I actually like the idea.
