1. I'm impressed
While I don't know much about Reid, he certainly seems to be trying to take it to the Republicans now that he's Senate Minority Leader. He's attacked Thomas, is hitting Bush hard on fear mongering over Social Security, and is generally pretty outspoken.

2. Litmus test
Did you stand up for me in Ohio and all the voters nationwide
and join the Boxer Rebellion?

Anything else is meaningless.

From now on; No more wussy democrats playing a rigged game
with thugs and crooks. Shouldn't have Florida 2000, hacking into the democrats'
computers in the capital, outing Ms. Plame, impeaching Clinton over nothing,
lying about 9/11, and lying to get us into Iraq tell Reid and all others that
we have to stand up to these bastards. Anything else is meaningless.

7. He spoke about voting fraud on Thursday
and if you keep writing to his office maybe he will do something. He wants to do something and he has the power to actually get some legislation through.

11. Or call...1 (800) 839 - 5276 - TOLL FREE to Capitol Hill Switchboard.
Edited on Sat Jan-08-05 03:50 PM by calimary
It's FREE. You can ask to be transfered to his office (or ANYBODY else's, for that matter), and they'll do it.

BTW - I voted "average." Too early to tell. And if he pushes Roemer for DNC chair, he's absolute TOAST with me. Roemer is anti-choice, and evidently, funded by RICHARD MELLON SCAIFE.

6. At what price?
Kerry pursued the right wing voters. Didn't work.

8. Because we are the "majority"
We need to gain a lot of new supporters. Don't assume we are the majority. You're freakin' arrogant. We have to win many more voters somewhere. The key is still organizing.

I like Reid. He's folksy and an abortion centrist. He also called Bush straight out a liar. I'm proud to call him my leader.

4. I think he's doing pretty well.
I don't know much about him and he's not exactly a riveting speaker, but he's swallowed his feelings on abortion and lambasting Thomas, so that counts for something.

13. He's doing better lately than I expected.
But then again, I didn't expect much from him, and he's MY senator.

But I AM plesantly surprised.

18. He's way better than Daschle
He may actually do something to stop Bush's agenda other than block a few judges.

19. Let's see how you feel when Reid endorses abortion restrictions
as he has done in the past, and continues to support the war in Iraq.

16. More balls and brains than Daschle
Daschle never said he would shut down the Senate if the GOP tried to take away the fillibuster.

20. I don't mind Reid that much...
even though I didn't mind Daschle as much as most of the people who post here, but I still think a Blue State Democrat should be the leader in the Senate, because I think might do a better job than someone from a Red State...just like my Professor said to me at the end of last semester.
