Did Senator Harkin of Iowa speak on Thursday? |
|
I missed the Seante hearing because I was at work. I was taping C-Span 1 for the big momennt ("I DO have a Senator), and got the House on tape, but I'm waiting for them to show the Senate again so I can tape it too.
I watched the Margaret Spelling hearing this morning, and was very excited about what Harkin talked about, and would like to e-mail support to him, but I need to know if he supported us Thursday. Don't get me wrong, I'm still going to commend him on bringing special ed kids into focus regarding No Child Left Behind, but I need to know if I should also pat him on the pack, or slap his hand for Thursday.

he seemed supportive of election reform. I think he voted against the Ohio challenge though. Most Dems supported election reform but I think only Boxer and Levin voted for the Ohio challenge.

3. I just wanted to be sure |
|
I know there were a lot that didn't stand up, and some who did still patted * on the back for winning.
Thanks for the help!

6. Yes, Harken spoke. And he was very |

good. I really like him. The one that I noted that did NOT speak was Joe Lieberman. The other Republican-lites did not speak either, like Max Bacus, Mary Landrieu, Cantwell, but I don't know whether they were present or not. But I do know that Joe Lieberman was there, because I saw him come down to vote.

7. Yes, Harkin did speak... |
|
and he was one of the only speakers who raised the issue of voting machine fraud. I took a few notes and what I jotted down for him was: If voting machine software is kept secret it can lead to fraud.
He was one of the Senators I had e-mailed, so I was pleased to see him take a stand. I'm disappointed that Byrd didn't.
