DU'ers from 2000 Selection Days. What Have We Accomplished on our Journey?

I think we've come a LONG, LONG WAY since Gore/2000. But, since I'm in a black mood it's hard for me to think of it all in perspective. But, I also know that there's nothing better the Bush/Cheney/PNAC'ers/Rove/Freepers would like than to think that some of us are in a "Black Mood."

I think we've done amazing things since "Selection 2000." And, although it seems that the "Main Stream Media" and DNC/DLC want us to all do "navel gazing"...we are WAY AHEAD of where we were just four years ago. Any good things you can think of that we've achieved? (I could start a list...but being in a "black hole" my brain just kinda is in "shut down" mode.

The "Internet" was young back four years ago... as far as political organizing goes" so from what I remember we only had "Salon" and "Bart Cop" plus some "Yahoo User Groups" (Joe Conason/Gene Lyons, Eric Alterman and a couple of others) to go to when the "Chimp" was "Selected." Look at how we've grown!!!! There's an Explosion of Bloggers with Websites...and ACTIVISM IS Alive AND GROWING.

We were such a small group back then...I'm amazed at all the "Helpers" we have now....I think that's really Positive...but I want to focus on "BACK THEN" in time...Like the dawn of our History...

1. I remember a couple of threads

where we compared the uprising of the 60's to today. There was a concensus among many that the time frame is so much more compressed now because of better communications. So yeah, I'm encouraged in that what took 5 years took 2 years this time.
