Analogy time: "The Matrix" is to Corporate Media as the Red Pill

is to DU. That's what DU feels like to me.

<snip>The red pill is an unknown quantity. We are told that it can help us to find the truth. We don't know what that truth is, or even that the pill will help us to find it. The red pill symbolises risk, doubt and questioning. In order to answer the question, you can gamble your whole life and world on a reality you have never experienced.

1. I don't think The Matrix
gets enough credit as an interesting bit of portentous sci-fi

7. I was just thinking about that
It's too bad the acting, directing, writing and editing suck so bad, because I think in terms of storylines, Lucas has grasped the times as firmly as he did in 1977.

Maybe he's fighting himself in the telling because it's such an ugly story.

8. Yeah. Still, he did an amazing job of catching the trade issues in EpI.
And then the beginnings of Empire and Dictatorship in Ep2. It should be interesting to see the completion in the next one.

I hope it doesn't prove quite so prophetic this time though. ;)
