Reporter to Bush: "Will you be in Iraq on January 30. If not, why?"
Ha! Don't I wish. But seriously, considering that Bush keeps saying how wonderful everything is over there and democracy must prevail and blah blah blah....

I know reporters are terribly afraid of offending the Boy King (except Helen Thomas), but it's not like this is an insulting question. The only reason B*sh might take offense is because he's *gasp* lying about the situation in Iraq or something! So why won't he be there offering his support to the Iraqi people on election day?

And why hasn't one reporter asked him? Damn liberal media! x(

2. He should be canvassing, door to door.
Y'know a get out the vote effort. Don't want a low turnout! In Arghanistan, it was more than 100%, so that's quite a score to beat! Besides, most people support the invasion and the violence is exaggerated, so what does he have to fear?

6. He doesn't want to give the appearance of controlling the elections
even though the Iraqis know he does. Check out some of the Iraqi blogs - they know. This will be a problem for the neocons when the Iraqis don't acknowledge their "elected" leader.

16. The winner is probably already Chalabi
if they're using ESS & Diebold machines. Chalabi is the one Negroponte had annointed until somebody realized he was being paid $350,000 a month for fictional "intelligence."

17. I hear Chalabi found religion
and has joined up with the Shites. That would align Iraq with axis of evil member Iran. What the heck is Boy George and the Neocons going to do now? Somehow they'll have to make a silk purse out of a sow's ear.

18. I doubt they are using machines
plus, the UN is supervising the elections. No ESS.

would be the significance of his being there, or not??

Just curious, but I see no relevance at all to anything.
