2. When I saw him yesterday |
|
(Wheee, lucky me -- and it was GREAT) --
he said that people OUTSIDE of D.C. are fairly receptive to him for DNC chair, but not so people IN D.C. He has contacted, tho because of telephone tag not yet talked, to everyone. He DIScouraged blanket emails to anyone other than in your own state, but was certainly receptive to people emailing their own state's Party members, POLITELY (he emphasized).
He also said he hadn't totally made up his mind, but the reason he was in Atlanta was the DNC Regional conference, so he's obviously still thinking very, very seriously about it.
I told him I supported him if that's what he really, really wanted to do, but I'd rather see him run again in '08. He laughed, and flashed one of those million dollar smiles.

3. I too would rather see him run again in 08 |
|
I think he can do just as much with DFA as he could with the DNC. If the party actually wanted him to come in and implement some real reforms, that would be great. But once again inside the beltway there is this ABD movement going on. I am still shaking my head over them asking MacAwful to stay on as Chair. Yikes!

4. I want 2 Southerners on the 2008 ticket. |
|
It worked in 1992 and 1996.

5. With all due respect, does it matter what their views are, or do they just |
|
have to be Southerners?
And the only reason it worked in 92 and 96 was because it was Bill Clinton, and there was also the Perot factor.

7. Yeah, this theory that the only way we can win is to run Southerners |
|
is a crock of doodoo.
We need a candidate who is a leader who can speak his stands and issues clearly to the people. We need a candidate who has executive experience as well as Congressional experience. If we want to make inroads into the South, we can't cede it, we have to campaign there, whether we run a Southerner or not!
