DON'T VOTE
Edited on Sat Jan-08-05 08:47 PM by Q
Why vote ( in a lottery) when your ballot may or may not be counted?

Why vote when neither Republicans or Democrats seem to CARE if your voted is counted?

Why vote when Republicans will cheat (with their party owned voting machines and racist disenfranchisement) and the Democrats will let them do it without consequence?

It seems America now takes democracy for granted even as they witness their representatives treat their heritage with indifference.

Faithful Democrats and Republicans still seem to believe the lip service coming from a government that allows hundreds of thousands of (Black votes) to go uncounted every four years. And every four years the faithful fall for the same rhetoric that it will be better...next time.

Half of America doesn't bother to vote. Although there are many rationalizations as to why...perhaps they have already recognized that no matter how they vote nothing will change?

Since the Bushies took office...it's like showing up to vote for Hitler or Saddam: you know the results are predetermined. And even if the faces do change...the corporate state remains the same.

My proposal is this: If there's no serious election reform by 2008....let's all go out and hold a massive PARTY in the streets and let the fools vote for more of the same.

Is this sarcasm? Only time will tell.

4. No...it's a CONSPIRACY THEORY!
Why would you call a thread entitled 'don't vote' a 'strategy'?

And are you saying they have to 'work' to win now? I submit that they have to be the best at kissing corporate ass to win as things stand right now.

Why would I start such a thread? Americans need to understand that they no longer live in a democracy and that it has become nothing more than a charade to keep people believing that they're not slaves of the state.

Hyperbole? Perhaps. But the fact that most Americans still believe that ours is a government of, by and for the people shows that the Bush government is above the rule of law and has the divine right of kings.

3. Whether you're being sarcastic or not, the fact remains
that many won't bother to vote because it will make no difference. Why trouble our "beautiful minds" with that annoying voting business when Democratic votes will just be zapped, and nobody gives a flying fuck??? Unless I really like a third party candidate and want to make a statement, however futile, I might stay home in 2008.

5. And it makes me wonder if...
...there is so little outrage about election fraud because it's mostly minorities that are being cheated out of their vote? No...it couldn't happen here (again).

6. They were the ones, along with students, who were targeted,
but the end result is that ALL Democrats were disenfranchised. Our choice means nothing, and our candidates apparently don't care! I really feel like I've gone through the looking glass. I get cheating lying scum, aka Repukelicans, but I don't understand Dems lying down like a beat dog and taking it.
