Hey Hackworth, :yourock:

Hack's Target

It Is Up to You And Me

David H. Hackworth

Considering the hits we keep taking in our global fight against terrorism, I’m gearing up in ‘05 to go up against the Pentagon’s increasingly out-of-control campaign to keep us all conned. The cover-ups track too often with more names added to the U.S. casualty list.

So here's my New Year’s resolution: to keep countering Pentagon lies with the truth until enough concerned citizens demand that Congress set up a congressional investigative arm to formally expose the liars and hold them accountable.

For almost six decades, I’ve borne witness to scuzzy machinations that had little or nothing to do with America’s national security. And because of them, I’ve watched my beloved country become enmeshed in far too many blood-splattered military misadventures only because they were good for Pentagon business.

Read the whole article, it's quite something.

2. I read that in yesterday's newpaper...
Great article, thanx for posting it here.

BTW David Hackworth is the nation's most decorated living veteran.
The right gets kind of queasy about discrediting him or labeling him "unpatriotic".

6. Thanx for looking that up and posting it with his op-ed.
In light of that list of achievements, I imagine standing up to this administration requires only a small part of his total valor.

What an American hero.

5. Yo, indigo & JohnnyRingo...Hackworth kicks; the best.
I'm somewhat familiar with his history and that's why I find him so credible.

This column is like our 1/6/05 protest: small, somewhat ignored, but a powder keg waiting for a spark. It's coming.

I can see a number of outraged Americans converging around different movements that will merge into one anti-Republican & Bush cause: Voting Rights; Social Security; Veterans/Military. Watch out!

Next time we "mosh" in DC there will be about a million of us!!! Oh Yeah!

8. i remember him
from Hannity when I use to listen to his radio show from my dark old GOP days. I remember he was a frequent guest and on a lot after 9/11, an audience favorite. yet when the Iraqi war came about he start criticizing the administration which Hannity didnt like. debating him on the issue, a loudmouth chickenhawk against the most decorated soldier in America was amusing. Hackworth is a "tells it like it is" guy which many red staters like. we need to get him out there so the public can get informed.
