Jr. is just following in his dad's corrupt footsteps ...to market the Iraq war. Read this and weep. You and I have been paying for the Pentagon to spread administration propoganda to take out Iraq, take over Iraq, take out Sadaam, help Chalibi. And it started when Clinton was in office ....

Do you think Reid, Kennedy, Lautenberg and Kerry are already on to this sort of thing and the Williams' outing was just to get the major impeachment ball rolling? The Rendon Group did alot of work in Boston. Guess who lives in Boston???

Just think, we may have paid to market the Iraq War to our own damn selves!!! This is so fucked up....

WASHINGTON - "Word got around the department that I was a good Arabic translator who did a great Saddam imitation," recalls the Harvard grad student. "Eventually, someone phoned me, asking if I wanted to help change the course of Iraq policy."

So twice a week, for US$3,000 a month, the Iraqi student says, under condition of anonymity, that he took a taxi from his campus apartment to a Boston-area recording studio rented by the Rendon Group, a DC-based public relations firm with close ties to the US government. His job: translate and dub spoofed Saddam Hussein speeches and tongue-in-cheek newscasts for broadcast throughout Iraq.

The firm is tight-lipped, however, about its current projects. A spokesperson refuses to say whether Rendon is doing any work in preparation for the potential upcoming invasion of Iraq. But a current Rendon Arabic translator commented, "All I can say is that nothing has changed - the work is still an expensive waste of time, mostly with taxpayer funds." However, Rendon may just prove to be one step ahead of the game. If Saddam is toppled, a Rendon creation is standing by to try to take his place. The Iraqi National Congress (INC), a disparate coalition of Iraqi dissidents touted by the US government as the best hope for an anti-Saddam coup, has gotten the go-ahead from US officials to arm and train a military force for invasion. The INC is one of the few names you'll hear if reporters bother to press government officials on what would come after Saddam.

At the helm of the INC is Ahmed Chalabi, a US-trained mathematician who fled from Jordan in 1989 in the trunk of a car after the collapse of a bank he owned.

1. Umm...

... this is pretty old news, and I think you've gotten some facts mixed up. The Iraqi troops stealing incubators in the invasion of Kuwait story actually came from another PR firm, Hill & Knowlton (no more scruples than Rendon Group, it's true).

Who has actually been paying for this is uncertain. Rendon doesn't talk about its clients' finances. We do know, however, that in the case of the phony stories from Hill & Knowlton, the money came from the Kuwaiti government and wealthy Kuwaitis, and possibly one or two Saudis.

For a much clearer picture of the propaganda program which took place before and during the Gulf War, read John MacArthur's Second Front. Everything that happened then, right down to Bush crocodile tears, happened before and during this invasion.

3. I got that part that it was a different firm but Rendon is still pushing

the Iraq war....I am looking for connections into what Reid, Kennedy and Lauthenberg are pushing for as a result of the Williams exposure with the NCLB stuff. They must know the Bush administration has paid to twist more than just that ...

On October 10, 1990, the Congressional Human Rights Caucus held a hearing on Capitol Hill. California Democrat Tom Lantos and Illinois Republican John Porter introduced a 15-year-old Kuwaiti girl named Nayirah. Weeping and shaking, the girl described a horrifying scene in Kuwait City. "I volunteered at the al-Addan hospital," she testified. "While I was there I saw the Iraqi soldiers come into the hospital with guns and go into the room where babies were in incubators. They took the babies out of the incubators, took the incubators, and left the babies on the cold floor to die."

4. I know of Rendon...

... but I doubt there's going to be much that will come of whatever R, K & L are contemplating. As with the Kuwaiti business, the money for most of this cheerleading inside the US may be coming from private sources. That said, the Armstrong Williams business says the Bushies are paying for propaganda in the US, of that there can be no doubt.

The Rendon Group, Hill & Knowlton and others are getting big dollars from the government for propaganda operations overseas. Some of the history of that is here:

If the Bushies have been playing fast and loose with wartime propaganda within the US, I do hope they get caught at it, but this Congress isn't going to suggest impeachment for it.

M'self, I think the appropriate punishment for all propagandists is lock them up, tie their hands behind their backs and make them listen to their own half-truths for a couple of years, if only to make them believe that it wasn't a good career idea.

2. I believe that Victoria Clark, who pushed the Iraq War for the Pentagon.

Their "spokeswoman," worked for the PR firm that handled the Baby incubator propaganda/lie for Bush I. There are never any repercussions for these people so they keep making the same plays.
