Poll question: Does Gonzales's history of bending the law to kill blacks in Texas
and approving the torturing (to death in some cases) of Middle
Easterners make him a racist?

Okay, so that makes him a sexist. Because he killed a woman.

2. All that *and* he hates our troops
The Judge Advocate General corps (military law) was *against* that torture definition re-write Gonzales & Bush & Co. civilian leadership wanted and got.

The Geneva Convention wasn't signed into law just so we treat our prisioners nice, it was written in the hope that OTHER NATIONS WOULD TREAT OUR TROOPS WITH SOME HUMANITY.

People like Bush, Gonzales, Cheney, Wolfowitz, Rumsfeld, et als. should be held personally reponsible each and every soldier that is ever captured and then killed by some enemy right now and in the future thanks to their boneheaded decisions.

If their poster-child Jessica Lynch had been captured *after* Abu Ghraib atrocities, would she or anyone from her unit have survived? Just a question.

6. isn't he the one that provided the 1/2 page summaries of the 152 executed
prisoners to Bu$h because Bu$h didn't want to be bothered having to commute death penalty sentences.. because the law was the law and god would sort them out????

7. yes....Bu$h can't let silly things like facts get in the way.
the most infamous was the sleeping lawyer case, which of course, Gonzoid couldn't specifically recall during his confirmation.

9. shouldn't this lack of recollection itself be seen as incompetence?
How does one "not recall" reading or soliciting a memo on torture? Are such ideas so commonplace they make no impression? The sleeping lawyer case is another example. He clearly perjured himself. But even assuming he didn't, early onset Alzheimer's disqualifies him.
Obviously there are a lot of memory problems among cabinet nominees.

8. Racism isn't the only type of injustice
One can pose a threat to life and civil liberty without being a racist. If an African-American thief kills two African-Americans during the course of a bank robbery, does that make him racist? If the two victims are Hispanic, does it make him a racist? He might or might not be. But the act itself doesn't tell us that.
There are all kinds of injustice and immortality in the world. Racism is one of many egregious ideologies.
