Democrats Should Run Anti-Bush Ads NOW!
Let's not just wait for a campaign. We need to start aggressively courting the public against Bush AND the Republican congressional leadership RIGHT NOW. Time and time again it has been shown that the way to change people's minds is to bang them over the head with the same kind of information over and over again.

Excellent example: http://observer.guardian.co.uk/international/story/0,6903,1386178,00.html

The link is about Bush's obscene inauguration costs.

Let's work now to erode Bush and the Republican's image as "men of the people" by vigorously launching a massive ad campaign against the inauguration costs and expenses, particularly in "heartland" areas.

Anybody else with me?

2. Don't rely on the Democrats
They're too busy trying to pick another DLC milksop to lead the party.

You'll have to hope Moveon.org or some other group does what the party should be doing but is too concerned with corporate cash to bother.

7. agreed, DFA, PFA, MoveOn, TrueMajority
these are the groups who might help - the DNC and the DLC support the war and they support Bush. They are more likely to run pro-war ads.

15. of course they support the President
Don't you support our President in a time of war? The DNC supports the President, they just have some minor policy ideas about how to wage the war against Iraq more efficiently.

4. New message : Why do republicans hate working Americans?
If we keep this idea in the media maybe it will start to stick. It is definitely true for Bush Co. and we might as well make it a blanket accusation.

Bush Co has declared war or working Americans - the population just doesn't realize it yet.

8. When we got that email
from the DNC after the election that was one thing I suggested to them. They won't do it but they should know what we expect. Ads would serve the purpose of reporting stories that don't make the news too. And why can't they do infomercials? Buy a block of time on late night cable and make it into a news report of all the stories that don't make it to cable or just the message of the month about jobs or social security. Moveon would be a good place to start.

9. infomericals are cheap too
It would take very little money to run a series of infomericals at late hours, and the impact would be far greater than just the original audience.

12. Good idea.
It's likely that on all the news shows and networks they'd do stories on it in which clips from the infomercial would be replayed which in essence gives us free advertising.

14. Love the infomercial idea
Especially since certain stations won't take money for ads they don't like.

Or, would they refuse them claiming they're too controversial?

When Bill Clinton was pres...it started before he even took office..and it never stopped..it was a continous pounding on every imaginable second of his life..it was as nasty as anyone could imagine...and it continues to this day. 18. I am totally with you. Let's start with who Bush is.
Is he a real pro-lifer, a true Christian, or a true conservative? We need to provide ammunitions for the next democratic candidate.

19. We need Air America TV...screw the commercials...
OK..we need commercials too. But what we REALLY need is at least one TV channel to fight back the Bush Administration TV channels.

It's got to be easy to stream off the net and have ways to distribute from a grassroots level too.

That is a great idea. But we need to figure out the content of the campaign.

22. No, run anti-whoever may possibly be the '08 nominee ads...
That's what we need to start now.

We need to go after Frist, Pataki, Guiliani, McCain, and apparently Gingrich. If we start now, we can get the word out early.

Forget Bush, he can't ever be president again. Targeting him with attack ads would be a waste of money.

23. In California, there are now effective anti-Arnold ads.
I can't remember who is sponsoring them, but I've seen them frequently over the last week, and they seem effective. It shows how Arnold broke his campaign promises.
