First, wanted to say thanks to those DUers who have come by http://www.black-thursday.com, those who have offered messages of support, and those who are going to participate on the 20th.

Wanted to let you know that the effort has really picked up steam: huge daily increase in site traffic, lots of new referrers, and best of all - the attention of the mainstream media. One of the major wire services is going to be running a story on black-thursday this week - they did the interview and took pictures yesterday - so with any luck, it'll be showing up in your local paper soon. And as always, appreciate you helping to spread the word, if you like the idea.

1. What are the plugins needed to view the web page?

I can't get any info on the plugins. So, can you please let me know what they are? It could be my Firefox browser that's causing this.

...which SHOULD be pre-installed in Firefox.

Inauguration Day, Thursday, January 20th, 2005 is "Not One Damn Dime Day" in America. On "Not One Damn Dime Day" those who oppose what is happening in our name in Iraq can speak up with a 24-hour national boycott of all forms of consumer spending. During "Not One Damn Dime Day" please don't spend money. Not one damn dime for gasoline. Not one damn dime for necessities or for impulse purchases. Not one damn dime for anything for 24 hours.

On "Not One Damn Dime Day," please boycott Walmart, KMart and Target. Please don't go to the mall or the local convenience store. Please don't buy any fast food (or any groceries at all for that matter). For 24 hours, please do what you can to shut the retail economy down. The object is simple. Remind the people in power that the war in Iraq is immoral and illegal; that they are responsible for starting it and that it is their responsibility to stop it.

6. Same here

I'm retired but I don't have to spend. And don't plan on spending for several days afterwards. I'm one of those people who buys when stuff is on sale. So, every once in a while, I hit the larder. And this can last for a week.

9. Bloody commas

As the poster above noted, the first link at top doesn't work - I guess I wasn't paying attention and included the comma in the link. It should be http://www.black-thursday.com
...so hopefully THAT will work. Punctuation has always been a bane of my existence.
