Where Repubs and Libs fall short(or try to CON) |
|
So much on and on, in the MSM, about how the government is so "powerful" and needs to be "cut back". Yeah? Well where then?
The problem is that big corporate interests and big business interests have corrupted the government that is suppose to be of the people, by the people, and for the people. Government has become an extension of those big interests.
The Libertarians and Repugs would have us to believe that government is bad and way too powerful in it's regulatory capacity. This is bullshit. The government is neutered. The EPA, OSHA, FDA, etc... are all departments that are suppose to do the people's bidding by protecting us. They do not because of the "revolving door" from CEO to Government official to CEO.
And to top it off they have the corporate media as their mouthpiece to sway the populace into believing that government is bad and should be neutered further. You know, the old, "Regulation and lawsuits hurt business and NAFTA good" speech that they keep droning on about.
No...the problem is that government is weak and ineffective at protecting "we the people" and needs some real beefing up in that direction.

"Populists, as opposed to liberals, do not get particularly excited about culture wars. We do not believe the important differences in this counry are about smokers versus nonsmokers or wine versus beer drinkers. This fight is not about lifestyles. It is not about religion. Keep your eye on the shell with the pea under it. It is about who's getting screwed, and about who's doing the screwing. And anybody who tells you different is lying for money."
