2. Yes.
We are surrounded by logical types, and it's kind of irritating.

I'm not being facetious.

4. Sometimes you have to be your own hero.
You can only wait for so long, you know?

6. True.
And I'm doing what I can here in our community. It's just that I have an ugly feeling that the folks at the top of the hierarchy aren't genuine.

5. Thanks for the welcome.
I consider myself to be logical and actively resist the urge to be impressed by any cardboard figure presented to me by the media as a superman or superwoman. But in the aftermath of the election debacle I'm feeling really abandoned. Where is the person brave enough to step up and announce that we democrats have GREAT moral values, whether or not we hold religious beliefs? Why doesn't somebody point out that liberalism now belongs to people from all walks of life & that we can't be stereotyped? What the heck has happened to our leadership? Is there in fact any democratic leadership? And why are people such a bunch of sheep?

Tune in tomorrow at 4:00 for answers to these and other important questions...

8. You start to grow up emotionally and politically
when you stop looking for someone to look up to and become your
own hero.

Do what you can politically. Don't be afraid to speak
out. Help in whatever way you can - but do something to make
yourself a person of power.

Miss Tina Turners

WE DON'T NEED ANOTHER HERO (THUNDERDOME)(T. Britten, G. Lyle)
Producer: Terry Britten
Albums: Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome soundtrack (85),
Simply The Best (91), The Collected Recordings (94)
Grammy Nomination: Best pop vocal performance, female (86)
MTV Video Nomination: Best female video (86)

Out of the ruins
Out from the wreckage
Can't make the same mistake this time
We are the children
the last generation
We are the ones they left behind
And I wonder when we are ever gonna change it
Living under the fear till nothing else remains

We don't need another hero
We don't need to know the way home
All we want is life beyond the thunderdome

Looking for something we can rely on
There's got to be something better out there
Love and compassion, their day is coming
All else are castles built in the air
And I wonder when we are ever gonna change it
Living under the fear till nothing else remains
All the children say

We don't need another hero
We don't need to know the way home
All we want is life beyond the thunderdome

What do we do with our lives
We leave only a mark
Will our story shine like a life
Or end in the dark
Is it all or nothing

I hadn't seen that letter. Conyers is the type I mean. I hope he doesn't disappear into the woodwork.
