My Prediction- Democratic Primary is still a two man race- Clark and Dean
Kerry: I think that Kerry's "Big Mo" will be shortlived.
PREDICTION: After NH, Kerry will tank in Feb 3 states, he will linger around till Super Tuesday when he will get knocked out of the race.

Edwards: Edwards is not polling well in South Carolina, where he was born. PREDICTION: Edwards will lose South Carolina and the two Feb 10 and he will withddraw before Super Tuesday

Clark and Dean: Clark will come 2nd in NH, win a few states on Feb 3.

He will than sweep, Feb 10 and win on Super Tuesday

1. I Think It's Clark / Kerry / Edwards Now
Dean's third-pace finish was not that damaging, but the consensus of Dean as a madman coalesced last night. Even a lot of folks on DU bought into it. Unwarranted and sad, but I don't think it's reversible.

Obviously, a lot of it has to do with TV advertising and appearing upbeat.

3. Voter attention span
The thing is most people don't have a very long attention span and they don't watch politics 5 hours a day like many of us do. The average voter will see that Kerry won and then go about their business. No big deal. I would guess that Dean is a probably damaged goods and people will be afraid to touch him but who the hell knows? This could cause the Dean camp to regroup and surprise.

2. It's possible
I live in New Mexico a Feb. 3rd state and out here all we know is Clark/Dean. Actually, we have not seen any advertising from anyone else and the absentee voting is all but done giving these two a real advantage. To me Kerry is just another Democrat who has been in the establishment forever and he is from two thousand miles away. Out hear Clark/Dean are superstars and the talk of the town. Kerry will have to work real hard to win out here. I doubt he will. I predict Clark will win big on Feb. 3rd then Clark's "superstar" image will carry him the rest of the way.

4. Too many people...

Are placing too much importance and moment on the enthusiasm evinced in one speech. In a week, this will all have faded into the mists of time.

6. I disagree
This was played all over the networks this AM. Most people I talked to couldn't believe what they were seeing. Remember, if it leads, it bleads.

The only possible saving grace for Dean is that the SOTU is tonight, which makes the Dean story a 1.5 news cycle event.

11. I just fear the Repubs and the media-whores will be able
to use it against Dean if he gets the nomination. His performance last night turned me off, and he had been one of my top two choices before I saw it. I'd still vote for him against Bush*; but I didn't like what I saw last night. And our enemies will make sure a clip of last night's performance will get more air time than Willie Horton. :scared:

5. We need to start a betting pool on the primaries...
Which ever candidate wins each primary, all the cash gets donated to that campaign - or divided between the 1st and 2nd place finishers.

stream media Dean can still win NH. Otherwise he is dead. Sorry folks but Trippi is an amateur that has done nothing but sit around and kiss Dean's ass. I know for a fact that constructive criticism is not appreciated in this campaign.

8. Dean
He's not out of it yet, but he's mortally wounded himself. I think an impression of him as un-suited for the Pres. temperamentally is starting to stick to him and if he can't shake it with a few solid wins he's history.

10. Personally, Trippi disgusted me
When he said, stupidly, that Kerry and Edwards STOLE Dean's image and used it. Maybe Dean should pull a Kerry and let his manager go, because these kind of things don't help Dean in any way.

9. America's perception of Dean continues to spiral downward. One
incident would and should be overlooked. When we combine the events which have surrounded the candidates for the past two months, other candidates have moved up.

12. No way, it's a 3 way race for 1st, with Edwards having the opportunity
of making it a 4 way race

Dean, Clark and Kerry now all have almost a 30 percent chance, with Edwards having about a 15 percent chance
