Is anyone else losing sleep or am I just going crazy?

Here it is, 1:15 AM, U.S. Est and I'm not able to sleep yet. The more I read, see and hear about the monkey & his herd, the more I feel like I'm watching some horrific fucked up movie. Maybe I'm naive or something, but I'm literally stunned each and every day at the things that this asshole gets away with. To make matters worse, it seems there's no one that's willing OR able to stop him. I feel like traveling the country, slapping the people's faces who voted him in, double slapping the ones who voted him BACK in and saying, "Wake up and smell the bullshit he's feeding us!" But I'd probably get sued for A&B. (sigh) Oh shit, is there any hope left?

I am normally an insomniac, but since the election it has gotten so bad that I don't even sleep during the times I used to... My instincts keep screaming at me to remain alert and watchful of everything that Bush and the Neo-Conservatives are doing. I feel this very strongly, and have actually had vivid nightmares of Bush's possible future agenda and the long-term affect of such.

and no, there isn't much hope left. My guess is we'll attack Iran and Syria after some terrorist event is created/blamed on them and then 1/2 the people we come into contact with in America will be bloodthirsty Nazis.

The only hope remaining resides in people like us. I can't find anything to be hopeful about though, other than the normal (strange word these days) things in life like the people I love, my dog and cat, etc...

I'm seriously bothered by, (to the point of not sleeping) of constant war. I live about 35 miles outside of D.C. and think about it being a target every single day.

The Nazi-like military coronation of * on 1/20, with 10,000 police and anti-aircraft guns and military flyovers and constant praise of war is deeply disturbing to me, like I'm the only one who can see this is Nazi American being born.

Add to that, that this fake war crap will cost at least $100 billion a year to maintain which means my aging parents and me and every other citizen will lose future benefits like Social Security and even basic healthcare and I'm a seriously worried person and, for good reason.

Thanks for your post, it gave me a chance to vent!

I think I'm afraid to go to sleep because of what I may wake up to. It's very frustrating. I'm losing about three hours of sleep a night, and I absolutely should not do this. I have health concerns and am not doing myself any favors. The rumblings of the earth are certainly not helping, not to mention the extreme rain, snow, etc. all over the place. It almost feels as if the earth itself is rejecting *.

18. All of your posts touch on the very nerve-center of my feelings.

That is, everyone who has posted up to this point. I don't consider conspiracy theories, but when I see the undeniable parallels between America today and past regimes it is a very scary picture. And the fact that so many are blind, apathetic, or otherwise willfully ignorant does not help assuage a personal feeling that something is very wrong. The funny thing is this -- the right-wing fundamentalists have written books on everything that they want to do to change America. We all know that Bush is not only beholden by their ideology, but also seems to be bewitched and pushing them forward. Kind of scary when you consider that there was another group in history that wrote down its plans in books -- Mien Kampf -sp?- to name one -- and everyone ignored them or wrote them off as stupid or nuts. A lot of people here think Bush is foolish, but let me tell you this -- it was people underestimating Hitler and the Nazis that made it so easy for them to steal power legally and in plain site. I pray that we don't make the same mistake while knowingly fighting our own internal demons.

I don't think the majority of American's are even aware of the lies, and that is the worst part. We've never had a president more deserving of impeachment, and yet nothing is being done -- there is no public outcry as this Satan takes our country down the windy dark path. I've heard (MoveOn; BushWatch, etc) that all that attended his rallies had to state their alligance, their reason for being there and then had to sign something stating what they already stated. I think there are more people out there that dislike him but he wanted his Rethugs to keep them silent. The good news: you are a normal, decent, moral human being. Good genes, good upbringing. Such folk instinctively are bugged by man-made and human disasters unfolding around them with increasing intensity. Some go on to be remembered as patriots and humanitarians.

If you were sleeping peacefully through all this shit -- THEN I'd be worried about your soul.

count. I remember saying much the same thing you did: The more I read and watch about current events, the sicker and angrier I get.

There's something new each day to be revolted about. Unfortunately, the news and politics DID burn me out. I got desperately depressed. I had to take a few days/weeks off and stick my head in the sand. My nerves/my body couldn't take it anymore.

On 9/11 I saw Bush give his speech in front of a line of schoolchildren, multi-ethnic and in order from tallest to smallest, and realized it was a staged pre-arranged photo-op.

A real president would have worked on normalizing the country as fast as possible, he would not have shut down the nation to insure a permanent mental state of fear and jingoism.

The war in Afghanistan was a mistake. The war on terror is and always has been a con designed to capitalize on our displaced sense of entitlement. Don't blame those who voted for Bush NOW... it was that first war and everyone who supported it that gave him all of the political power he wields today. There's a lot of waking up to do.

How bad is it really? The massive security at the inauguration is not crowd control with rubber bullets, and they are not there to protect against terrorists. He is and has always been five steps ahead of those who oppose him.

Is there hope? Of course there is. His little cabal has even conned the republican party, and their loyalties have been strained to the breaking point. In his rush to fire all opposing intelligence experts, assassins, and spies he didn't realize he was firing all the smart ones. A lot of pissed, smart spies with an abundance of free time on their hands. His foreign policies guarantee the number of countries Bush can travel to grows shorter by the day. And the facts compiled here on DU are not going away, they are being repeated louder and louder all the time.
