Bush Social Security advertising scripts revealed - coming soon |
|
the Progress for America Voter Fund (PFAVF is run by several top GOP consultants attached to the DC lobbying firm DCI Group) of "Ashley's Story" fame: compare, through images, FDR to GWB and suggest that they share(d) the same motive - begin with a sound bite of Franklin D. Roosevelt singing the initial Social Security Act into law - the narrator: "It took courage to create Social Security. It will take courage and leadership to protect it. Once, 16 workers supported one retiree, But when today's workers retire, only two workers will support one retiree. Washington must strengthen Social Security. No changes for those at or near retirement, but younger workers should have the option of a personal savings account. Call Congress today and urge them to strengthen Social Security for everyone."
And then we have the Free Enterprise Fund (from our "friend" Stephen Mooreew formerly of the Club for Growth) which sells "the President's principles"
The U.S. Chamber of Commerce ads are noy known yet.

1. Anyone know of a group on the other side of this issue |
|
that will run ads? I would gladly contribute to a group running ads to counter Bush's propaganda.

Saying if we want to gamble, we'll go to the slots.
I think they took such a hit on the Medicare thing that they'll be happy to lead the charge in fighting any changes to SocSec.

4. Here's an idea - might even appeal to the fiscally responsible repubs - |
|
let's use SS to support SS recipients rather than tapping into it to cover other budgetary shortfalls.
I know it's crazy talk, but you gotta wonder what goes through these fuckers' minds.
