:hi: Yes I'm Christian, but don't think I'm gonna be spewing Jerry Falwell, Pat Robertson propaganda here. If anybody lacks morals it's the so-called Christians such as these.
Anyway, I look forward to contributing to DU and learning from all you.
Special Thanks to:
Bethany Rockafella, GreenPartyVoter & newyawker99 for already giving me a warm welcome.
PEACE!!
P.S. Remember that WE ARE the good guys! :hi:

|
Edited on Tue Jan-11-05 07:10 PM by Cookie wookie
as in:
...."Thou shalt not kill." The Ten Commandments ....Adultery is a capital offense: Leviticus 20: 10 ....Rebellious sons who do not repent, should be stoned to death: Deuteronomy 21: 18-21 ....Men having problems selling their daughters as slaves because they are not attractive are entitled to sell them as slaves to foreigners: Exodus 21: 7-11 ....Anyone who works on the Sabbath day will be put to death: Exodus 35 :1-3 ....People must not light a fire in their homes on the sabbath: Exodus 35: 1-3 ...."Everything in the waters that has no fins and scales is a loathsome thing to you:" Leviticus 11: 9-11 ....Rules for buying and selling slaves: Leviticus 25: 44-46 ...."Thou shalt not plow with an ox and an ass together." Dueteronomy 22: 10 ...."Thou shalt not wear a garment of divers sorts, as of woollen and linen together." ....If a damsel isn't a virgin, she should be stoned to death. Deuteronomy 22: 19-21 ...."You should make tassels for yourself on the four extremities of your clothing with which you cover yourself." Deuteronomy 22: 12
etc.
"The Holy Bible," authorized King James Version
Now where are my tassels?

Don't know if you'll learn anything from my posts, but hope you keep on contributing and we can learn from you. And there is nothing wrong with REAL Christians. It is not right to lump all people who have religious beliefs into one convenient group. Just as there are many different personalities out there, there are also many different takes on religion. Keep up your good values and morals and fight the good fight. :toast:

Seriously, there's nothing inconsistent with being a Christian and a Democrat! I think it's much more difficult to reconcile real new testament christianity with republicanism, frankly. It's easier to get a camel through the eye of a needle than to get a rich man into the kingdom of heaven, or so I'm told...

44. Just like in the early days of christianity |
|
christians come in all different flavors. Unfortunately the Pauline christians and the Roman government joined ranks and organized religion has gone downhill ever since.
The big problem for the fundie christians is that they have been mislead by people who live in darkness and preach nothing but fear and hate. They are quiet literally, anti-christs.
Jesus and the early christians were all about love and tolerance. You can not follow this path, without those two principles to guide everything you do and be a true christian, or buddhist or muslim.
Anyway, welcome to DU :hi:
Peace be with you DYEW

Sign of the times, and the total hijacking by the right, that one has to put the BUT in there.
I always thought Jesus was a screaming liberal socialist, myself, what with the loaves and the fishes, and the tearing cloaks in half to cover beggars, healing the lame, blind and sick (free health care) and so on!
Anyway, bienvenue au DU!

I too can't help but to offended by the nickname. It implies that it's totally unlikely that one would be both a Christian and liberal. When of course, a true Christian following the teachings of Christ would naturally be a liberal.

The biggest lie ever told is that "Republicans" are the majority of Christians. There are many liberals who are Christian. If one truly followed the teachings of Christ it would be a natural as breathing to be a Christian.
