Drink Coke? Switch to Pepsi!
For one thing, Pepsi is resisting the call from the NYSE under pressure from the NLCP not to back/fund Jesse Jackson's committees. In fact, Pepsi and Verizon have both written the SEC to complain.

FYI, Pepsi INCREASED its donations to Dems in the 2004 election cycle, wherease Coke increased its donations to Repukes.

Now, when I indulge in the occasional soda, I know which one to choose.

Unless of course, Coca-Cola has even more nefarious ties ...

Joan Crawford......!!!!! Her husband, Al Steele, was head of Pepsi, so no one is perfect in any boardroom!

Besides, Nixon is DEAD. Way dead.

33. I don't think that he still is on that board
Henry Ford was a raving anti-semite, but that doesn't stop Jewish people in 2005 from buying Ford cars and trucks.

36. Most companies are giving more to Repblicans these days
Since the GOP is power, they get more contributions. The Democrats used to get more money when they controlled Congress.

5. donation records show Pepsico's ceo/chairman is a huge puke
check the facts:

Steven Reinemund (Pepsico chairman, ceo)
http://www.newsmeat.com/ceo_political_donations/Steven_Reinemund.php

vs.

E Neville Isdel (Coca-Cola chairman, ceo)
http://www.newsmeat.com/ceo_political_donations/E_Neville_Isdell.php

Reinemund is a 3-time Bush donor (92, 00, 04). Isdel appears to be apolitical, but at least donated to the Big Dog's re-election.

8. Thanks! I've been avoiding Coke since the teens in front of me
at Fahrenheit 9/11 sang the Coke jingle with their own lyrics - "Coca-Cola is the company of the death squads." I knew that Coke had a reputation for killing people in Central America who try to Unionize before the movie, but since hearing the revised jingle I can't look Coke without hearing the jingle!

"Coca-Cola is the company of the death squads."
"Coca-Cola is the company of the death squads."
"Coca-Cola is the company of the death squads."

:-(

9. Pepsi's no better.
Pepsi's sudden lack of a cheap source of sugar after the Castro revolution in Cuba had a lot to do with the Bay of Pigs invasion attempt...which, if you follow the trail, led to Dallas 11-22-63.

And by pure coincidence, there was a Pepsi board meeting in Dallas that very day. Dick Nixon was there.

And in less conspiratorial, but no less evil news, Pepsi controls a huge segment of the corporations which have contributed to the declining health of Americans. Taco Hell, Pizza Hut, Frito Lay, KFC, Skippers - just a few of the brand names by which Pepsi markets refined carbs and trans-fat.

Not to mention it just tastes like SHIT

19. When I worked at the AFL-CIO
we picketed Pepsi-co companies around the issue of health care. They were outspoken against the Clinton Health Care plan and we did a demonstration to show how they paid health care in other countries and it didn't hurt their business at all. All these companies suck.

Maker's Mark, to be specific. Just enough Pepsi to "give it a little color." And that doesn't take a whole lot of Pepsi.

Sorry to use hyperbole here, but it's true. That vile drink Pepsi is almost as bad as TAB, but not quite.

I know Coca Cola is quite evil, but damn if it isn't tasty.

31. Drink WATER!
I used to drink cokes all day long. Now I'm trying to get in better shape, loosing some fat. I've almost cut cokes out of my diet altogether. I feel so much better.

I can't switch to Pepsi though because I can't stand the way it tastes.

35. you'll feel lots better when you cut them out altogether!
like you, i'm on a diet & at first i limited myself to one coke per day. last month, i decided to go cold turkey & only had a couple over the holidays. this past weekend, however, i went out of town & had cokes all over the place. i started feeling like i was coming down with something, and each time afterwards if i had a coke, i felt worse. i stopped drinking cokes & drank water or juice & felt a lot better. then on the drive home, i picked up another coke. i started feeling sick AGAIN and stopped drinking it.
