Poll question: (water) gun to your head... Choose! |
|
Win with the DLC. Lose with Dean.
I'm not sure what I would want... I like Dean, and I like to win. I dislike the DLC, and losing....

I caucused for Kucinich not as a vanity project, but because I thought losing with Dennis would be almost better than winning with any of the other guys. Seriously. Having the machinery of the Democratic Party in the hands of someone truly progressive for a change would have been a revelation. Dean is not as great as Dennis in my estimation, but he's a lot better than the alternatives I know anything about.

Don't drink the water.
They lost 94, 96, 98, 2000, 2002 and now 2004.
The idea might have been inspired and perhaps "New Democrats" ala NDN (and NOT Al From-type DLC New Democrats) might be winners, but remember:
DLC CLAIMED DEAN'S WINS AS GOVERNOR AS THEIR OWN...
They do nothing but bash fellow Democrats now.
I pick WINNING with Dean.

5. Agree. DLC -- where is their record of winning? Dean was |
|
a winner, how many terms as Gov?, until DLC sabatoge and hostile press undercut him in Iowa.
Win with Dean.

4. Winning with the DLC means empowering collaborators and Quislings. |

In my opinion. What good would it do us to have more of the same kinds of Democrats in power as the ones who are letting Gonzales through and who made no moves to stop the war? What good would it do us to hear Republican-esque apologies for the war coming from the mouth of Democrats in power? It hasn't done us any good thus far. Better to lose while building the party back up from the ground up based on principles we can be proud of.
