HOW STUPID are bush & bushbots on Iraq elections??? Glad ya asked. |
|
bush & Cartel, and all the bushbots, keep going on about how ONLY FOUR of Iraq's 18 provinces are too violent for anyone to be voting.
Sounds good.
Except these idiots are SO STUPID they don't know that those "only 4 provinces" contain more than HALF IRAQ'S ENTIRE POPULATION.
Duhhhhhhh. That doesn't sound so good.
And by the way, how come the talking heads don't bother pointing out the fact that Iraqis DON'T KNOW THE CANDIDATES' NAMES...because it's TOO DANGEROUS to make the names public.
"Free elections"...under occupation by a foreign army, under martial law, with half the population in a raging war zone that can't vote, for unknown candidates.
This one's gotta be a record for SATIRE.

1. Years ago, Calvin Trillin wrote a piece on how difficult it is. . . |
|
to write satire in America.
"Everytime you come up with something you believe is unbelievably wild and totally outside the realm of possibility," wrote Trillin, "the government does something that makes your idea seem commonplace."
(Or words to this effect. . . I'm working from memory here.)
At that moment, Trillin was flabbergasted by the Reagan Administration's "response" to the discovery that the Soviet Union had military advisors in Cuba. Rather than discuss it with the Kremlin, the Reaganauts launched an invasion of the American military base at Guantanamo Bay! We invaded ourselves to prove to the Rooskies how determined we were to do nothing about their being actively involved with the Cuban military.
As funny and absurd as that situation was, what you've described LynnTheDem is infinitely more bizarre. No wonder SNL and comedy in general has been so flat recently -- who can compete against the ridiculous ad absurdum of the Bushistas?

since the election theft of '00 -- it's been bizarro land. or jesusland, or freep republic -- it's been anything except real. and since they continue to act like fucking victims -- they don't even have a sense of humour re: their own absurdities.

BushCo does know exactly what is happening in Iraq, and the chaos and bloodbaths are part of their program.
