John Conyers endorsed Dean for DNC Chair

There has been a very long thread endorsing Rosenburg for DNC chair. I disagree with Rosenburg for chair as he has talked a lot about investment, corporate involvement etc... and because he is the choice of the big money party insiders who STILL think we have to talk more like republicans and get more corporate sponsors to win. I think they have it exactly backwards.

Conyers I respect and admire and his endorsement carries a great deal of weight with me.

4. I hope Dean gets it.

There are some who only believe him when he will say that we are one party and we should all work together. My bet, as DFA has already started doing, he will call for a truce with the DLCers. He will have to make real choices, support real people and can no longer claim to be "an outsider". He has earned it through working his tail off for the party, supporting a DLC candidate for pres and having DFA give money to DLC candidates. He may be the last great hope for any form of unity. That is, if his supporters don't piss everybody else off in the process.

To Conyers the most important issue facing the party and country is that of election reform.

Appears to think Dean is the man to back on this issue.

Dean is the best choice to be the DNC Chairman, not only in our eyes, but in Congressman Conyers', too. I trust that Congressman Conyers has my liberal interests at heart and that of the Democratic Party more than any of the other
endorsements I've seen lately.
