I got a mass e-mail from Dean saying he is running for the DNC chair. How exactly does he get the job?

I'm not sure how the state DNC delegation is selected, though.
On edit: Found it. The state DNC delegation is elected at the state convention. Then your state DNC delegation votes for the DNC chair.

Numbers vary by state.
State party Chair and Vice Chair are also members.
There are about 75 at-large DNC members appointed by the Chair. I think there are about 450 members overall.
