Randi has been playing Ann Coulter comments.
Ann Coulter has to be one of the few people on the planet who is more stupid than George W. Bush.

It's incredible that even freepers can find anything this creature says to be worth anything. She's proof positive that in order to be a Rethug, you need to lack a brain, or have one with an ON/OFF switch on it. Jeeeeeeez.

1. It's amazing that people like her get as far as they do
and proof that our media is completely right wing. I could tear that bitch apart in a debate, yet they can't find any liberals to do it on national TV? Please.

43. Any liberals who can tear her a new asshole on national television.
She has a Rush-style management team. They don't let her go on television if it looks like someone might actually be a threat to her or challenge her like that. At least, no one competant.

41. What the Dems need is a person or persons who
can talk as long as she is talking - right through every comment she is making - in a nice calm tone but never stopping to hammer home the Progressive points - not answering her but just making our points over and over without losing focus - looking directly at her and talking right through her....

Too bad we don't seem to have any in place right now. Like you, I know that I could drive her right back up her banana tree merely by talking true issues through her inane statements.

29. Her goal and her usefulness to the GOP is to lower the standard
for what is acceptable political discourse. For example, by advocating death for those who disagree with her she makes mere ostracism more palatable. She also serves to fuel the incredible hatred which fills the hearts and souls of much of the republican base. She is very useful to the republican party.

42. You mean, she is defining down discourse, citizenship
I suppose that means anyone who isn't actually killing and eating her political opponents looks acceptable, but that actually works AGAINST the other purpose of fueling hatred. And hatred doesn't always work for the politicians.

Note how the freepers turned against Mel Gibson when he was insufficiently hateful towards Michael Moore, for example.

45. Freepers always hate and always are willing to hate anyone.
The fact that someone who freepers adore advocates death for her political opponents does not lessen freeper hatred for people who are different or who disagree with them. Nor does the fact that they now hate Gibson have any effect on their hatred of other people. Their capacity for hatred is boundless. Freepers are very capable of turning on Coulter and hating her, but that too would not lessen their hatred of anyone else.

The political benefit of stoking hatred among your base manifests itself in turnout. The GOP adopted its policy of fomenting hatred of democrats in the 1980's. I would say that the overwhelming electoral progress made by republicans since then at the state and national levels has shown that it works extremely well for republicans. I do not think that it would work for democrats.

12. this is where we get complacent
we just dismiss bush and coulter as idiots without brains. I do it as well, knowing however, that this is not the case. While they may be morally reprehensible, they are not stupid. They are cunning and mean, pig-headed and pompous, manipulative and alert. We cannot EVER discard them as anything less than they are - very very dangerous and the enemy.

stop laughing - she really is a woman (I think!), but she is not the radical right wing wingnt she professes to be. That's just her job. I think I heard it on a blog from someone who knew some friends of hers. Their belief is that she only does it for the $!

Still, I consider her to be my enemy!

If this were Germany in 1927 and we were looking at the Nazi party leadership, we'd be thinking the same thing - How can anyone take these losers seriously?

A few years later we'd find out.

I would NEVER downplay the threat these people play by attacking them as loonies. Loonies do get power.

The same should be done with Falwell, Robertson, and Dobson. There are millions of decent people who vote republican who find all of these people disgusting. These decent people are able to vote republican only because they believe that the Reich wingers are not representative of the GOP and are harmless.

27. You're right.....Let's just put it this way:
Coulter and Bush are not mentally retarded or stupid; they're morally retarded sociopaths with no conscience.

There are some smart people whose only sense of right and wrong is "right is what I want now, and wrong is when someone tells me I can't have it." This describes the far right wing of this once-great nation.

15. When Coulter started doing Rivera's show in the beginning
she was some kind of snickering fool who would occasionally put her two cents in with the typical right wing spin and do her bashing Clinton 101. she wasn't much different than the others. When she started the outrageous comments her career took off. A light went off in her head. start writing books. The more silly the better.

Al Franken was on today commenting about a quote in i think her new book. It was about a statement he made that Japan gave more aid in 2001 than the US. she said that the US gave more aid in 2003, so Franken must be a liar. And you wonder why this country is in a sinkhole.

34. my conclusion
comments that she, Hannity, Oreilly, Limbaugh make cause me to fume. but at the end of the day, they are just trying to succeed in their business. Being the most right wing, the most obnoxious, the loudest, meanest personality, keeps you at the top and gives you the most audience, thus more money. the most controversy, the ability to make people hate you and make their blood boil keeps them exposed. do you think you would know their names if they were nice soft spoken people? do you think they would have a dedicated audience if they actually thought about issues and agreed with the other side or showed criticism towards the administration? they have to lie, manipulate truths, and talk over other in order to win the debate. if they dont, their audience looses confidence in them. yeah they are probably republican but i bet its mostly an act just to make big bucks. however, the vile they spew is dangerous.
