The Senate went from a 57-43 Democratic majority to a 52-48 Republican Majority after the 1994 election.

"It is possible for an American to disagree with you on aid to the contras and still love God and still love this country as much as you do."

Someone needs to remind people that it is possible for Americans to disagree with the president on any number of issues and still love this country. That has been forgotten in recent years...

Johnson is the dominant Senate figure since the Civil War. It's really not even close.

(And how Mitchell is leading is beyond me).
