the GOP knows there is way too much easy dirt to bring up on Newt in a Presidential run.

He's suppressed his appetite for power and wreckage long enough. God help us.

I wouldn't count on it. Unless the dynamics change, it's pretty clear that a lot of Americans don't want a president, they want a strap-wielding Daddy. A guy like Newt.
In some ways he reminds me of Nixon. Polarizing and little loved, but came within a hair of the office once and snagged it on the second try.

5. Maybe much more visible: He may run for President in 2008 |
|
He's written a new book, and had an appearance this morning on NBC's Today show.
Of course, Katie Couric, Repub-lover extraordinaire, conducted the interview.
Newt seems to ratcheted-up his religiousity, and supports Bush's plan to wreck Social Security. Katie was pleased.
Old timers may recall how Newt dumped his first wife when she was in the hospital with cancer, as I recall. Nice guy, eh?

What's there to be afraid of anymore? The "winners" are all plundering and looting America in plain sight now.

12. TWO WORDS--THREE WIVES |
|
Two ugly divorces, two instances of infidelity...
....and a blow job in his office on the Hill!!!
(Sung to the tune of 12 Days of Xmas).
Fuggedaboutit. His best chance is a non-vetted, no advise and consent White House political appointment. But I just think he wants to be a playa, and tout his consultancy skills.
What little is available re: his last divorce, and the trial, is pricelessly salacious reading. Wife Numbah 2 had a fantastic attorney--Calista (now wife numbah 3) was compelled to "stipulate to sexual contact" with Newt, otherwise they were gonna put her on the stand and force her to describe in EXCRUCIATING detail all of the fucking and BJ's--YES, BJ's--that went on IN THE SPEAKER's OFFICE, while, such irony, Newt was excoriating Bill Clinton for the same shit over at 1600 Penn. And the sick fact of it all is that Newt got more play than Bill ever did, for a longer period of time.
I understand Newt's staff of "true believers" got real pissed off when they figured out what he and Calista were up to, and they tipped off the Missus.
