Poll: Casey: 52% Santorum: 38%
Got these #'s from Daily Kos, probably a Democratic Senate campaign poll, but still encouraging.

Bob Casey Jr. is the expected Democratic candidate to run against Santorum in Pa.

1. Diebold results: Santorum 52%, Casey 38% </sarcasm>

I bet you any amount that the GOP (Goons Out to Plunder) will hack the elections software once again--and dismiss the Dems who suspect them as "political paranoids."

3. Diebold poll: Casy: 38% Santorum: 52%. It's not the
number of votes that matters, it's the number of votes counted.

11. Isn't it by 2006 that every precinct in the country is supposed to
be on blackbox voting? Let's hope the good people of Pennsylvania will be among the first to put a stop to this nonsense.

:argh:

No more blackbox voting!

several notches.

I posted yesterday that he might be one of the biggest assholes in the GOP.

16. I'm not sure I could have done the same.
Homophobe would have been the kindest thing I called him. And whatever else I would have said to him would have been said with a smile on my face.

I just can't imagine how he has managed to stick around this long. This has to be his last term.

6. wouldn't it be great to get rid of Santorum
The guy is a creep and IMO not to be trusted. Ever!!! PA is a mess. Both Spector and Santorum should be outed. We missed on Spector last time but I'm hoping PA wakes up. (the sleeping part of PA that is)....(no offense to any Pennsylvanians intended).

We need to keep it at the top of the search page.

13. yes he is just like his dad was
but if he can beat Santorum, I'd support him. I don't see his pro-life affiliation as being his #1 goal as a US Senator to help overthrow Roe. Like many Pa. democrats I think he is economically liberal and socially moderate.

17. Hmmmm
I detest Santorum but your line I think he is economically liberal and socially moderate. re: Casey is what concerns me. Santorum's consistent votes for pork spending bills is one of his weaknesses, along with his regressive social stand on issues...I would prefer to see the Dems put up a "polar opposite" candidate to Santorum. A social liberal/fiscal conservative. Oh well, even if the Dems put up Ghengis Khan in 06 against Santorum, I'll vote GK.

23. yes unfortunately he has it backwards
He's a very nice guy and I am sure he will have Rendell's support, but he is going to have a very hard time with women. No matter what these polls show pro-choice women of both parties will probably work for someone else in the primary. That group will include me.

29. His dad seemed to do just fine with a socially conservative/economically
liberal approach. My highest priority is that Democrats are economically compassionate while being fiscally responsible. Social issues are very secondary to me both personally and in terms of winning elections. Ever since we have had a greater emphasis on social issues our winning percentage has gone down the shitter.

Edited on Thu Jan-13-05 05:32 PM by Cheswick2.0
Bob is a really nice guy, but he is anti-choice and unfortunately has all the "personality" of a bowl of mashed potatoes.

He very graciously campaigned for Rendell in 2002 after Rendell beat him in the primary. I am almost sure he will have Rendell's support for that reason. But he should have a primary challenger and that person may very well beat him.

People here are really pissed off at his ripping off the taxpayers and his attitude when asked to pay it back. Casey Jr. is anti-choice but that actually helps him in PA with the fundy nuts. If he runs he can win.

Either way that's good news. It shows that the race should be competetive. I can't think of a seat I'd want Dems to take more than that one.

I really want to see senator "man on dog" out of the senate.
