Five Categories of Bush voters

About the Election...

I would like to get into my understanding of the motivations of Bush voters, based on my experiences of talking with hundreds of them personally. I have found that Bush voters fall into five main categories, with some cross-category hybrid.

Category One: The Old Testaments (Estimated 14 Million Bush votes)

<snip>

Category Two: The Jessica Simpson Moderates (Estimated 8 Million Bush votes)

<snip>

Category Three: The Magnets (Estimated 12 Million Bush votes)

<snip>

Category Four: The Ownership Society (Estimated 1 Million Bush votes)

<snip>

Category Five: The Pre-Rich (Estimated 27 Million Bush votes)

<snip>

So there you have it. Five categories, five cases of rationalized ignorance in one way or another. And if we can't figure out how to reach the proverbial unreachable ones, these people will cost us more elections.

1. This isn't very accurate
It leaves out the values voters entirely -- and no, they aren't the same thing as the "Old Testaments" that are included. These are the folks who voted for Bush because he's a "good, God-fearing man," and who place their faith at the center of their own lives and expect the same thing from their leaders.

You might disagree with these people, but you ignore them at your great political peril. They are willing to look past a lot of things to support Bush for his (loudly-self-proclaimed) faith.

3. Good point
I posted this from DailyKos. Why don't you leave the author a post over there (use the link above)? He asked for feedback and comments, I am sure he would appreciate it.

The pre-rich are rapidly becoming the currently unemployed.
