Who's vulnerable in '06?
I'm serious now. Which Repuke Senators and/or Congresspeople are vulnerable in the midterms? It's time to start targeting them now.

1. In a fair election
They are all vulnerable cause they had let the people down.

2. In the Senate
Santorum is vulnerable for sure.

Frist is probably giving up his seat in Tennessee so that should be a toss-up.

Maybe Talent in Missouri?

My quick reading was that there weren't too many names on either side that looked vulnerable to me. It doesn't look like a high turnover election although retirements always change that.

3. On a second look I am more optimistic
I am very optimistic for dem gains in the midterms:

Both Snowe and Chafee should be pressed hard from the democrats. Chafee will most certainly face a strong opposition in the republican primaries. He might need to switch parties to survive. Snowe is rumored to retire (or so I read). If she retires this is a likely Dem gain.

Santorum is very vulnerable. His policies are too conservative for PA. A strong dem candidate could take him down.

Frist will retire to run for persident, so this seat is a good opportunity roo. Hutchinson is running for TX gov. but this one is not likely a pickup...

Other seats dems should target are Ensign in NV, Kyl in AZ and Allen in VA.

And don't forget someone other might retire giving dems a good chance to pick up more seats. Or a scandal might break (like KY in 2004 where Mongiardo almost won that seat).

Still too early to tell but the outlook is not so bleak
