MSM is trying to make hay of Dean bloggers
Edited on Fri Jan-14-05 09:27 AM by Atman
Just about every guest CNN has had on this morning has been asked about those awful PAID bloggers working to say nice things about Howard Dean. Never mind the fact that said bloggers were up-front about their relationship, and never tried to pretend they were "independant" like Armstrong did. They are doing everything they can to equate Armstrong's blatant, unremorseful WHORING with the work of regular ol' PR. But of course...expecting any degree of honesty from CNN these days is like expecting W to admit that Iraq was a mistake.

BTW, before you post back "TURN OFF CNN;" I watch them now the same way I used to listen to Limpballs...just to hear what the enemy is saying about us, and to note which advertisers to avoid.

And, speaking of media whores -- what a great segue into today's DU COMIX offering!

1. Dean is not "one of them", therefore he's got to castigated.

3. Details...details
Public money...private money.
The wingnut msm glosses over this stark difference and the sheep go, "baaahhh baaahhhh".

4. Why
During the Summer and Fall, much was made of the internet's ability to organize, raise money, and get the message out. The meme was that Democratic activist were more internet savvy than the republicans. Viola! The bashing begins.

5. AHHHHHH HA HA!
Ah, yes, I saw an article about that this morning: they are all outraged that supposedly DailyKos "got $3000/mo."

As you said, that blog DISCLOSED the relationship--unlike Armstrong Williams.

But I felt happy when I saw that they are pointing fingers at bloggers now... why? Because NOW just WAIT till the fickle finger of fate gets pointed at Freerepublic. HA HA, this is gonna be good!

For years Freep-tards who may have supported McCain, or who just didn't support Bush, were wondering why they kept getting smacked down on that site whenever they dared to criticize The Retarded Messiah. It really, really makes one wonder if there is a specific, tangible (jingle, jingle... is that coins falling into a drawer?) reason why any criticism of Bush is verboten there. We shall see. (chuckle)

6. If bloggers were subject ot FCC rules, I'd say investigate them.
They aren't. Armstrong Williams and the rest of them are. So investigate them.

9. The only one i remember is Daily Kos
but he made that declaration long ago in the primaries. The difference is being up front about it, (which Kos was) and hiding it like the rightwing hack Armstrong Williams is.

10. The MAJOR Difference between Dean's case and Bush's case
Is that Dean used his own campaign finances...

Bush used tax payer money.

Bush's case is criminal.

Dean's is legal.

BIG DIFFERENCE!!!

13. Newsmax and Talon News are supported by Right Wing Conservatives
Lobbyists. The exact same lobbyist spammers who are pushing the Social Security Crisis for the Bush Regime. But of course this is all done in secret.

Liberal blogs come out in the open and declare payments of support and their payments of support are not funded by taxpayer tax funds.

In this upsidedown world payola in secret is deemed okay by the Bush Regime and CNN and should not be discussed, but out in the open payments to liberal bloggers must be scorned by CNN.

14. It's Payback for Armstrong...RW trying to smear Dean and Bloggers at
Edited on Fri Jan-14-05 11:00 AM by KoKo01
the same time.

Two posts showing in this forum about Dean Bloggs show that MSM has gotten the RW Talking Points Memo to smear and if they can take Dean down (don't want him as DNC head) and hit the Dem "Bloggers" at the same time then you can associate Armstrong Williams with Dean in peoples' minds.

I don't know how that works, but they've been sucessful in making convoluted connections in the past so they think it will work again.

Also last nights O'Lielly segment with Ed Schultz trying to paint him as someone "paid by the Dems" is another example of their "Payback Time" push. Typical of them.

16. "Bloggers aren't journalism, unless we want to flog them!" - MSM
Seriously, what happened to the Blogs Aren't Journalism mantra the MSM has been chanting for the past few years? Or doesn't it count when you want to divert attention from your own festering boils and prove that since other people are just as corrupt, your corruption is acceptable? Of course, the devil is in the details here. Details such as the fact that what the Bloggers were paid for were separate services for Dean, not pure propoganda. And details like the disclosure of said employment. But hey, the American social consciousness likes it's McNews in headline-only format anyhow. So fuck the details. Right?
