Were any undecided DUers converted to Dean's camp by last night's speech? |
|
This is a serious question. It seems that the only people who were energized by Dean's speech were people who were already solidly behind him. I'm curious whether last night's speech won him any new converts.

1. it certainly wasn't meant to |
|
Whether he should have had that goal in mind is a valid question, but I doubt that speech converted anyone. It was meant only for the people in that room, as far as I can tell.
This, of course, is the root of the problem.

Someone on Dean's team should have said "The cameras will be on us. This is a tremendous opportunity to win converts."
But instead, his speech was aimed toward his most loyal supporters.

2. I think Dean should drop the wrestling speeches |
|
"Oh yeah......Dynamite Dean is coming to getcha! Election 2004! Royal Rumble.....the war on the shore!"
That's what I keep expecting to hear him say next. I'm not knokcing Dean's policies, but I think his yelling is hurting his bid.

3. your repeating exactly what the media whores what you to repeat |
|
Dean is getting "Gored" with the constant repetition of a smear.
For the record I'm not behind any candidate because I think it's all rigged to begin with.

4. I'm not "repeating" anything, that is my opinion |
|
Based on what I've seen of his speeches.

God, I don't know what's worse: the fact that you made such a lame wrestling reference or the fact that I got and chuckled at said wrestling reference.
I loved the speech. Made me laugh. Especially the scream dealie after he said he was gonna take back the White House. Gold. I probably wouldn't vote for him even if I could (I live in Canada) but it made me like him a bit more.

Did Dean not really give the speech we all thought we watched him give last night?

... last night just further enforced my belief that this is neither the man which we want as our candidate nor the man that we - ever - want near "the button."
Irrational. Over the top. Completely unprofessional.
This is a man not, at all, ready for prime time.

11. The purpose of Dean's speech last night was |
|
to his current supporters, not to attract newcomers.
