CNN Daily Poll - How do you vote??
How do you vote on this. I think his comments have had intended consequences. They were not innocent comments. They word a lot of their polls that you can't vote either yes or no.

Do you think some of President Bush's comments have had unintended consequences?

Yes
No

1. You said it yourself...you think his comments have had unint. cons.
So you would vote yes.

It's a lame poll, at any rate.

3. ............LOL just another one of their ambiguous polls
Edited on Fri Jan-14-05 04:39 PM by BullGooseLoony
that they can spin however they feel like.

Here's the key: Ya gotta analyze the shit and figure out exactly what the EASIEST way to interpret the poll is, and then vote against Bush. Just gotta keep it simple.

Like, for this one, vote yes because that means Bush fucked up.

6. I said Bring 'em on before I voted to not bring 'em on
During a round-table interview with reporters from 14 newspapers, the president, who not long ago declined to identify any mistakes he'd made during his first term, expressed misgivings for two of his most famous expressions: "Bring 'em on," in reference to Iraqis attacking U.S. troops, and his vow to get Osama bin Laden "dead or alive."

"Sometimes, words have consequences you don't intend them to mean," Bush said Thursday.

-------

How about, "I voted for the $87 billion before I voted against it."

It sure doesn't stop bush from capitalizing on it when others say things they "don't intend them to mean."

4. Those polls just give them "hits" on their website to get more advertising
That's what I've come to believe. I don't bother with them anymore. We used to do DU Poll Alerts where we would all go over and "Unfreep" a poll, but I've never seen that they listen.

It's just to get ad view... If it makes you feel good to it. But, they don't listen, imho.

8. The poll shows 0 votes for each answer.
Also, that is a confusing question. I think Bush's intended consequence was to look tough and sound big at all cost. I suppose the real consequences -- inciting more violence -- were unintended in the colloquial sense. But, the meaning of intent, as used to define second degree homicide includes doing something violent that has a consequence the perpetrator should have realized would occur. If you carry a loaded gun into a grocery store and say hands up and someone gets killed, chances are, under most circumstances, you will be found guilty of murder. That you carried the gun into the store is, I believe, enough to establish your intent to kill even if you didn't "intend" to kill anybody when you went into the store. What was in Bush's heart or mind is not relevant. He should have known that his words would have the same effect on Iraqis as a taking a gun with you to rob a grocery store. The consequences of his words would have been obvious to any ordinary person.

10. I didn't see the option:
"I don't care what he meant. Bush is an asshole and I fucking hate him"

actually I couldn't get the page to load either, but if you see a poll with that option, PM me.
