Wait... Is Armstrong Williams scheduled to take the fall for Bush?
Look, I despise right wing talking heads, but let's face it: Bush and the Education department are more at fault in this situation. Why is the blame shifting more towards Armstrong Williams and not towards * where it belongs? Is this a racial thing? What is really going on?

1. Bush never accepts responsibility for anything. Ever.
I don't think it's racial -- Williams will take the fall for him just like everybody else always does, no matter what happens.

5. I don't see the connection
As much as a jerk Williams is, how could he take the blame for Bush? He's a paid mouthpiece. He doesn't direct or even implement policy.
Bush has gotten away with a startling number of misdeeds, but I don't see how the Armstrong Williams scandal alleviates that.

6. Yes, it's ALL armstrong's fault
The FCC is going after him now, which means Rove has ordered Powell to dispense with him.

The administration has nothing to do with this, nothing at all I tell you. That man, Armstrong Williams, has a serious ethics problem.

9. The plan
It's diversion, more than taking the blame.

They don't want the story to be that the administration has been consistently using paid shills to lie about the policies.

They want the story to be about Williams, who has a serious ethics problem. Everyone will like that angle. The media can trash a competitor. White and blacks alike, civil rights proponents and racists alike, can mock him for selling out.

11. Thank you...
Its about "distraction".....

It's about playing the shell game. While we are busy looking for the turd under one walnut, the real turd is under another.

It's kinda like using Friday to bury bad news.

Armstrong is playing Friday.....
The Bush admin are the bad news and are still operating like they always do.

12. And worse yet
The scandal has shifted to include Dean. WTF? Why does anyone care if Dean paid some bloggers? Does the mass public read blogs? Did the public nominate Dean??

17. Did Dean use tax dollars?
This is such a lame attempt to divert attention from the $240,000 shrub paid Williams. And damnit, those were tax dollars!!
