The Boxer Rebellion Part Deux
Senator Barbara Boxer is going to lead the fight against Condoleeza Rice's confirmation as Secretary of State by standing up for us again, asking her the hard questions about why she misled us about 9/11, Afghanistan, Osama Bin Laden, and Iraq.

As a Boxer supporter and contributor, I receive regular e-mails from her. Include in yesterday's was a request to sign a petition to support her challenge to Rice. Please do your part by signing it below:

http://ga4.org/campaign/ricehearings/3k3ge649jm335w

You can also contribute to her PAC:

http://ga4.org/boxer2004/join.html?r=_dqvv_n1yBpGE

Help Senator Boxer give Condoleeza hell at the confirmation hearings!

4. When did this "Pac for Change" start...can you give me more info
about it. I went to the website and it looks good, but I thought it was illegal for Senators to have PAC's.

I support Barbara Boxer and will be glad to sign the petition, it's just that I want more info. Is the PAC just raising money for her or for other candidates?

Thanks..

6. I wish I knew the answers to your questions, but it's just a link that
Barbara Boxer included in her e-mail. I have no reason to believe she created it or did anything illegal. I guess the website speaks for itself.

7. I think the PAC is an independent organization that Boxer supports.

9. Follow-up:
Here's a better link to PAC for Change:

https://www.changethecongress.com/donate/

In her e-mail thanking me for signing the petition, Barbara Boxer stated:

"And, I invite you to make a contribution to PAC for a Change,
the organization I started to keep us together as we fight the
Republican right-wing."

22. I think it's new
I got the first email about it a couple of days after the election confirmation votes. It seems to be an issues PAC from what I can tell, although it's not to say she won't raise money for other candidates.

13. Let's also tell Dianne Swinestein how much we appreciate her...
...and her ringing endorsement of Condi. She should not get a "free pass" for this.

15. Thank you. I've been intimately familiar with Sweinstein's career
Edited on Sun Jan-16-05 01:01 AM by Seabiscuit
since her first two failed runs for a San Francisco City Council seat in the early 1970's.

She finally won the seat and immediately ran for Mayor of San Francisco in 1975. I worked for George Moscone's successful campaign against her that year. I even visited her in her home during that campaign, and gracious as she was, I could never forget the bad impression and taste in my mouth she left from that campaign.

Ever since then she had her eyes first on the Governorship of California, and when Jerry Brown won re-election, and then the seat passed to a succession of pathetic Republican leaders, she changed course and won her Senate seat. Because Dems have been looking the other way, she's continued to remain there far too long.

She's been a right-wing Dem her entire "political animal" life. She was a right-wing dem in 1975. She's sucked up to the Bushistas too many times. I urge every Californian out there to help me vote her out of office. She's a political dinosaur who doesn't know she's extinct yet. Let's send her a clear message.

18. Don't forget that TOLL FREE number: 1 (800) 839 - 5276 - to Capitol Hill
First Thing Monday Morning.

Californians - she's coming up for reelection soon, I believe. Not soon enough, in my opinion. Perhaps she needs a reminder that we'd like DEMOCRATS representing this BLUE state. NOT a DINO. She's one of the first to run whoring to the Larry King show or some such, to talk in those somber, measured tones about how we have to cave, cave, cave to the bushies and the republi-CONS, and how we have to make nice, nice, nice, and see their point of view and be reasonable, reasonable, reasonable. BULLSHIT!!! I, for one, look forward to supporting someone else during the primaries. She has NOT done my bidding as my representative. As a voter and a taxpayer, I am her employer. I am a VERY dissatisfied employer. EXTREMELY dissatisfied.

You're right. We're taxpayers. We're her employer. She's not doing her job. She'd fired.

23. What did it for me...
Is the fact that (Yes, I know she hasn't been confirmed yet) Condi
didn't say or do anything about the tsunami.

It was a golden opportunity for some brownie points and lo-and-behold
a resounding... Nothing.

Still nothing...

So, goodbye Condi. You've been silent, so, stay that way.

Go, Boxer, Go!

OFN...
