Help me define *'s optimism.
It sounds very propagandist to me for * to use that word so many times during the Barbara Walters interview last night. Optimism as he defines it is to turn a blind eye to logically assessing problems and changing the plan to fit. This upcoming Iraqi election is a perfect example of this.
WE can turn what he sees as his blessing (optimism) into his curse using simple truths. Will people listen?

2. remember the ostrich commercial
the guy is delusional. he sees what he wants to see and hears what he wants to hear. This is a new age. Facts are irrelevant.

3. not yet.
Because * is optimistic that the majority of americans will swallow his lies so long as he frames the debate in optimism and patriotism. His bet is that most people only have the time to listen to "sound bite politics". He has been proven correct. Maybe people will have more time for crital thinking after they are handed their "pink slip" and our country is left in tatters.

6. We need to use the media to re-define these terms.
How do we do this?
Is it really as simple as repition?
Is a battle of repetion what we want?

7. What media?
The media kept REPEATING the swift boat liars LIES even after they KNEW the story was a pack of lies. The media as a check and balance on our elected officials died when Cronkite retired and Helen Thomas was relieved of her post. It died when it took GREAT DELIGHT in the national disgrace, the events that propelled the impeachment of Clinton for a matter unrelated to HIGH CRIMES AND MISDEMEANORS. The media chuckled and guffawed when Gore was branded as an exaggerator. Crossfire "bings" and "bongs" every other sound bite. The media can't help us redefine politics... they are nothing but America's new airheads. If it isn't tantilizing gossip... they lose interest.

The media is a greater part of the problem we have as Americans than * and his criminal regime. Where's their outrage at *'s lies and corruption??? Tucked away safely somewhere between wardrobe changes and their bank accounts.

8. It's phony. It means nothing. He's pretending to be Reagan.
It's a campaign theme, it's merely words - like compassionate conservatism, which was just the flip side of Clinton's New Democrat. Except Clinton actually was a New Democrat while Bush is a nasty fascist.

9. His optimism can be defined by the fact...
that he never lets reality enter into his universe. He is a "magical child" stuck in the formative stage of a 2-4 year old. He is ego-centric and believes that whatever he thinks or wants to happen will happen because he wants it. It is common with people who are mentally ill & people who have problems with substance abuse.
