A couple of funny quotes from St. Louis today...DNC conference.
This struck me as rather funny and lighthearted on a day the media has been so annoying.

http://www.kansascity.com/mld/kansascity/news/local/10655345.htm

SNIP.."Several candidates touched upon the need for campaigning vigorously in all 50 states, for better articulation of what the party stands for and for better communication between the national efforts and local and state campaigns.

Dean noted, "I'm not a very Zen person, but I have recognized since the presidential election that actually the way to get power is to give it away, to give people power in their home states to do the things that have to be done and to trust people."

When another remark by Dean met with loud applause, Simon Rosenberg, a political strategist who often spoke after Dean, "I think in these future forums, I don't want to follow Gov. Dean every time."

Dean and Rosenberg at the conference.

SNIP.."Former Vermont Gov. Howard Dean (news - web sites), who is seeking the chairmanship of the Democratic National Committee (news - web sites), answers a question during the DNC Midwest Regional Caucus, as fellow candidate Simon Rosenberg looks on, Saturday, Jan. 15, 2005 in St. Louis. Dean is in St. Louis to speak to, and answer questions from, the voting members of the caucus along with others who are seeking the chairmanship of the DNC. (AP Photo/Tom Gannam)

I think he'd be a great DNC chair, but even if he doesn't get the job I know he'll continue to lead through DFA. That man has got fire in the belly! :)

6. Admitting you are not Zen is the first step
to enlightenment!

8. Mandy, I needed that laugh today.
That was so cute. I never ceased to be amazed at the way Howard Dean phrases things. I wonder if someone brought up the topic first?
:hi:

10. He's used the Zen reference several times
I think in Atlanta and also on Tim Russert's MTP.

Might not be a bad idea to contact them about it...the DNC Midwest conference in St Louis.

Another pic of the conference from Yahoo.

11. Anyone seen this at C-Span yet? I have been trying, but nothing.
Sounds like Roemer had a temper tantrum about his pro-life stance, so that should be interesting. I posted in GD about it.
