Pat Buchanan with predictions on the Iraq War
"Bush is nearing his Tet moment. After the Jan. 30 elections, he will have three options. Persevere in a no-win war with 150,000 U.S. troops bleeding indefinitely, until America turns on him, his policy, and his party. Send in tens of thousands of fresh U.S. troops to crush the insurgency, as we undertake a years-long program of training Iraqis to defend their own democracy. Third, find an honorable exit, and leave Iraq to the Iraqis."

The rest of the article is pretty good

2. Bush won't pull out of Iraq...
it would cost his buddies too much in lost revenue. And we would lose all that oil. BTW - what's the latest on the 13 bases being built there?

4. My prediction: Withdrawal begins February 7
See my reasoning, which is that Bush will take PB's third option, not because it is the best for America, or for Iraqis, but for him.

5. Pat's right...
but there's too much taxpayer largesse going to El Presidente's cronies for him to order a withdrawal from Iraq. It's a case of body count vs. billions, and the $$ will win every time.

6. You'll Never Find "Bush" and "Honor" In The Same Sentence
Besided, didn't Pat get the latest Missive from Jesus' Brother Dubya? The election proved he was right about Iraq, and now he's gonna spend his political capital.

Early indications, however, show that he'll spend that political capital the same way he's spent the rest of his capital: wildly, poorly, and with nothing to show for it without some of his daddy's buddies bailing him out.

The question is, how many more of those guys are left?

8. On the question of the Iraq war
Pat Buchanan is more of a Democrat than a lot of Democrats.

Sad to say.

9. #4..........
by moving the "war on terror" to a new country, bush can move the troops out, with out notice of most. Just like Afghanistan. No need to "win" or leave a stable country behind, as we need our troops for WAR!

10. Bush is too dumb to get out....you know Texan cowboy code, etc....
he will keep sending troops into the abyss, because for him its just a distant decision not to look like an idiot (that he is). They are already preparing to send more troops in and letting few of what they have there leave. He is too stupid to recognize we are in a no win situation.
