Bush's visions of grandeur include being like Teddy Roosevelt's 2nd term..
snip...

Well before last November's elections, Bush commissioned chief political guru Karl Rove to analyze predecessors' second terms with an eye toward helping shape his own.

After absorbing Rove's tome during postelection R&R at his Texas ranch, Bush told some friends he hoped to emulate Teddy Roosevelt's activist second act. Beginning exactly a century ago, that term saw the Spanish-American War hero and ex-New York governor win the Nobel Peace Prize, expand American power around the globe and make major strides to protect the environment.

"He wants his library to have more in it than a terrorism wing," a GOP think tank official said.

This is laughable.

3. That earthquake you feel
is TR rolling over in his grave. The only thing Bush has managed to do of the three goals mentioned is "expand American power around the globe." That little policy usually get the protaganist...what? They never learn.

5. I noticed it said Bush
"absorbed" Rove's tome...not that Bush read it.
Someone either read it to him or gave him a one page synopsis.

6. The man presided over one of the biggest fuck-ups of American policy
and he wants to be remembered like Teddy? Bush will be remembered for his pre-emptive strike policy. It was a dismal failure, striking without getting adequate information; and it was a dismal mistake to send in your VP to muscle the very people who were responsible for compiling the intelligence; and it was an even more colossal mistake to out a CIA agent to try to stifle a report that would have criticized his decision to go into Iraq.

Bush's legacy is already written. And it's not good. It's a shame he hasn't figured it out yet.

7. Actually Bush has weakened US power/influence around the globe and he's
using gov't to feather his "constituency's" nest to the detriment of the environment and the interests of the people at large. And now he's leading an attack on Social Security disguised as a "fix." What else does he want to add to the "Bush Administration's Lies And Deceits" wing?

These people evidently so seriously deluded that they apparently are believing their own propaganda.
