Tired of Emanuel and the OTHER Collaborationists |
|
The Democratic party is now firmly the 'minority' party in our Congress. It's time they started acting like an opposition party.
I am sick of the backwash Emanuel and others are spewing about working 'with' *.
NO MORE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

1. Right. I want just one Democrat who voted for this war to say it was a |
|
mistake. I want one to say, knowing what we know today and had the administration been truthful, I would not have voted for giving Bush those powers. It was a masterful political cover move by the Rovian. I am sad to admit that most Dems were not smart enough to see it coming and now like so many spineless Republicans, they won't even admit that they were wrong and made a big mistake. Instead, they are all trying to suck up to the regime in control and right wing media.

10. Arguments like this one play into the "it's not Bush's fault" frame of |
|
thinking.
Why is the conduct of the Iraq invasion anyone's fault other than Bush's?

the best members of our Democratic Party.
Rahm Emanuel is not only NOT a 'collaborationist' he's one of the sharpest knives in the drawer.
At this point, I have to question the true motives of those DU'ers who post these derogatory posts about good Democrats such as Emmanuel, Obama and Rangel.
This is counterproductive.

3. It seems some would like to be a smaller minority. |
|
When they are down to the ten percent that meet there approval they will revel in there greatness. BTW it is Emanuel.

4. The sharpest knife in the drawer was having a dull day yesterday |
|
Just to rate the 3 that I saw yesterday: Kennedy,Emmanuel, and Reid
They all needed work but IMHO Kennedy was best with a B+, Reid C and Emmanuel C-/D+
I saw no talking points utilized
These guys should be better prepared for these shows

7. I will admit to knowing next to nothing about Mr. Emmanuel"s |
|
entire record. I will take your word for it that it's terrific.I think my Congressman's record is terrific too,but I don't want him on a Sunday talk show unless he can do a fantastic job of articulating our program/values and condemning the regugs agenda.

... it is THEIR FUCKING JOB to get in front of the press and articulate the DEMOCRATIC POSITION.
If they cannot do THAT, they should be dogcatcher. That is the MOST BASIC FUNCTION OF A POLITICIAN IN THE AGE OF MEDIA.
We keep getting this galloping mediocrity because we keep accepting it. And as long as we accept it, the Repugs will control the country.

8. Rahm, Charlie & Barak ALL Do A GREAT JOB Articulating... Rahm Had |
|
ONE bad appearance. ONE.
And the trash talkers line up on DU.
This isn't just Democrats on DU slamming sitting Democrats.
It's disruptors imitating those DU'ers who slam Dems.
I don't know which is which...
I am not calling anyone out...
but the low level of discourse and lack of intellectual honesty in such posts is NOT the best DU'ers are capable of.

11. If you had the time to follow the many posts |
|
you would see that many had not even seen the show. They were reacting to misinformation that Rahm had agreed to the B$$$ piratization of SS. Reacting takes precedence over reading too often.

... a GENERAL PROBLEM WITH DEMOCRATS that must be corrected soon.
The reason the pubs win elections is they formulate a message and they stick with it. It is not Emanuals fault he got on national TV without knowing what he thought and how to say it?
Well, really it isn't. It is the whole party's fault. And I'm despairing of it ever getting corrected with each gaffe like that one that happens.
on edit: rant removed.

"Washingtonspeak". It's as if all the passion that might have gotten people into politics in the first place gets drained out of people once they get to Washington. I don't want a demogogue - just someone who can clearly articulate why our agenda is better than the repugs'
Concisely and clearly

.... I felt my post was a bit over the top so I started over.
I am trying to make a simple point. Everyone here is quick to defend these guys and point out the "other" time when they did stand up and say the right thing, but the whole problem is we need to be on message 99% of the time not 50%.
And IMHO, it is EXACTLY the "washingtonspeak", the middling, muddling "I'm saying something but nothing you can pin down and hold against me" that cost John Kerry the presidency. There I said it. And I really mean it. No more Senators. Not EVER.
