Look at Rahm on his knees for the Bush administration. . .NOT!
-snip-
Something's fishy

Rep. Rahm Emanuel, Illinois Democrat and White House aide under President Clinton, can't figure out why the Bush administration allows Canadian cattle in the U.S. market — despite the discovery of three cases of mad cow disease there — yet continues to say U.S. imports of Canadian drugs are unsafe.
"I am puzzled," Mr. Emanuel admits to Agriculture Secretary Ann M. Veneman and Health and Human Services Secretary Tommy G. Thompson.
"Curiously, three known cases of mad cow disease are insufficient evidence to halt the opening of the U.S. market to Canadian cattle," he says. "But the fact that none of the millions of Americans who purchase prescription drugs from Canada have been harmed is not enough evidence for the administration to support the importation of prescription drugs."
The congressman questions whether the issue is really one of safety. He cites the timing of the U.S. announcement to open the beef market, which occurred just after the Canadian government announced a possible crackdown on drug exports.

1. DimSon must be having fantasies about seeing Canadians drop dead after
taking their own medications. The lies are getting more stupid each day.

2. I don't know much about the issue but
isn't it suspicious that the day after US reopens importation of Canadian beef, a new case of mad cow dx is foung?

3. This whole thing about RE-importation
is ridiculous.

Please correct me if I am wrong.

The drugs are made here, and shipped to Canada, where the NON-CORPORATE OWNED government sets a price ceiling. I have two questions...

1. Why is importing products made in the USA dangerous?

2. Wouldn't it make sense for the Canadian government to add a couple bucks to the cost of each prescription and welcome the new revenue?

5. But why does he use weak rhetoric like, "I'm puzzled", questions whether
the issue is one of safety, etc. Why don't they ever SAY IT! Bush is on the take. Shout it out. Print the money trail.

THIS is exactly why they are so ineffective.

6. Yes exactly...
Enough with the word games and innuendo. Honesty is the best policy. We can do this with out vindictiveness. We have to do this gently but honestly.
Half the American public thinks this is like the Red Sox vs. Yankees. We need to tell them they elected a liar.

9. I didn't hear the comments
firsthand, but in most cases sarcasam and Irony just doesn't sink in with republicans. Just goes over their head

10. One piece of evidence that this story is BS is that I've read...
...a couple threads about his appearance, and I've read dozens and dozens of posts about it, but I still have no idea what he's alleged to have said that was so bad.

Even if some anti-Rahm poster replied to my post with an argument supported by quotes it would be too late. I think it's already clear that this storm of crticism is a lot of sound and fury and it signifies nothing.
