WHY is Bush talking about Colin and Alma Powell on MLK day??!!!!!!
He is lifting up a WAR MONGER instead of a PEACE MAKER, that's why!

Yeah, great American role models "like the Powell's!!" (Producing the little brat that has given us such an honest FCC.)

What a nasty snub to Coretta Scott King, this whole speech!!

Oh yes, Martin COULD have gone on to have a big parish and a cushy life, says Bush! That sure is what clergy live like, all right (NOT!) being married to one as I am.

Had he not been so all concerned about JUSTICE and LOVE and PEACE like the Lord Jesus, whose Name Bush almost spat out in the middle of CNN's satellite problems.

Villain!!

I do look for lightening on Thursday.

4. Because they are Black.....
and in Bush small and uneventful mind, Black folks are interchangeable. It's not about what MLK stood for, it's that MLK was black and so is Colin Powell. Period.

He doesn't get it, doesn't want to get it....and never will.

9. Agree
"Black folks are interchangeable" The same thought crossed my mind. Unfortunately, a lot of conservatives share this view, IMO.

7. Because he is obviously judging them by the content of their skin
rather than the color of their character.

8. I was very surprised.
I just finished speaking to another African American who was quite shocked and thought this was such an insult.

11. MLK would be ashamed of them.
I'll never forget the angst attributed to King about winning civil rights in America because he was worried about what kind of 'civilization' blacks were wanting to sign up for...meaning the depravity of white paternalistic society. Powell is a good example of what he was afraid of.
