barely get out of bed most days. I don't know how these guys manage the campaign trail day in and day out, so many appearances and speeches. Three cheers for type A personalities.

and this should go for all candidates:
read Theodore White's The Making of the President 1960, the part about Nixon showing up for his TV debate with Kennedy. Nixon was tired from a day of campaigning, and he had the five o' clock shadow. Kennedy was rested. Guess who won the debate?
You will also find out that those who listened to the Nixon-Kennedy debate on the radio, overwhelmingly thought that Nixon had won the debate.

4. How times have changed |
|
I would like to know the percentage of Americans who listen to a debate on the radio? Heck, judging by the ratings, very few even watched them on tv

10. Actually, a lot of people had TVs in the 1960s |
|
TV became really big in the 1950s with shows such as Milton Berle, Howdy Doody, Hopalong Cassidy, Sid Caesar, etc. In addition to comedies such as I Love Lucy, game shows were also very popular.

Sorry, I couldn't get the numbers written down. They ran it too fast.

He will use this time to audit his campaign for what is going well and what is going poorly. There was a mess-up yesterday, a disconnect between HQ and what was happening on the ground. They need to replot their strategy. Luckily it is early enough that they can still do it, but after SC things will get hairy if they try to retool anything.
Time to switch focus away from Iraq and look at healthcare, jobs, and the economy.
Also, this is a good time to take time off because the media will be all SOTU.

Seriously, I think the exhaustion caused the meltdown last night. So, a days rest will do him good.
