Help Barbara Boxer: E-mail links to CNN, MSNBC
Edited on Tue Jan-18-05 01:31 PM by moggie12

Since Dems don’t seem to be rallying around Barbara Boxer, how about we help her? Send e-mails to these two stations:

CNN:
http://www.cnn.com/feedback/forms/form5.html?5

MSNBC ("Hardball" link since Chris Matthews is covering hearing?):
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/3036697/

This is what I wrote in my e-mail:

Thank God Barbara Boxer is questioning Condoleezza Rice regarding Iraq. It doesn’t seem right to me that someone who provided false information about the threat posed by Iraq is going to be the new Secretary of State. I am appalled by Senators who seem to be giving Ms. Rice a “free pass” on the way to confirmation. Doesn’t providing false information mean anything?? And don’t they care that Ms. Rice missed the warning signs of an impending Al Qaida attack???? How can we promote someone who has made so many mistakes in judgment? I just don’t get it.

Please pay attention to this issue in your coverage of the hearings: Americans need to understand these issues better than they currently do. Thank you very much for listening!!

1. MSM is spinning Boxer HARD...
On CNN the reporter said that "that was Senator Boxer's opinion."
No, CNN, it wasn't. It was FACT, the difference being clearly unimportant to the press.

9. Yep, that's the kind of stuff they get away with now

I'm on the warpath. I'm going to send them a blizzard of e-mails asking them to do their job and stop spinning. Facts, not opinions, guys -- the media has forgotten what they're there to do!

Boy, the media drives me nuts these days.

Edited to fix the numerous typos I made because I'm so mad at these %$&#@ media twerps.

3. Good idea: we need to contact the media before the repub spin begins.
The repubs want the media to refer to it as partisan politics. We need to frame it as accountability to the American people or telling the truth.

5. Very good idea
This is a lesson in basic investigative reporting: find the facts and present them; ask real questions; point out the truth. This is what the media is supposed to be doing!! Thank God for Boxer!!

11. Thanks for the links, made it easy to write in. My note
Senator Boxer(D-CA) did her job today in the hearing of Condoleeza Rice for Secretary of State. Using Ms. Rice's own words, Ms. Boxer called into question the record of Ms. Rice as National Security Advisor. Thank you Senator Boxer for showing great integrity through holding a public servent accountable for mistakes made, as Ms. Rice's record indicates.

Boxer makes me feel proud to a democrat. Is it possible the rest of the democrats really wont back her? What's wrong with them? Ok, off to send my emails.

14. Yes, that's an excellent resource
Maybe you can help me -- I spent an hour today looking for a site where you can type in a message and then send it off to several media outlets at once (instead of spending time cutting-and-pasting messages over and over again). Do you know of anyplace on the web where you can do this???? ("Democrat.org" has such a feature but it only lets you send "mass" messages to your local newspapers and TV stations -- I want to be able to bombard the big media outlets since they set the tone of the coverage.) Thanks for your help if you know where I can find this.

18. Kinda Sleazy should have been fired on 9/11/01
To this day, I will never understand how such incompetence still holds a job at any level in our government. And yet this administration wants to give her a promotion!? It's not just Iraq, it is her total breathtaking incompetence on issue after issue after issue after issue after issue, for 4 goddamn years.

Right now, I swear, B. Boxer is the only Dem I would vote for for prez in '08 --the other Dems better start following her lead. I will no longer work for, or vote for, Big-Talking Ass-Sitters. Time to rebuild our party and TAKE IT BACK from the B.T.A.S.'s.
